“Your unit has a rich history and glorious traditions,” Putin said, speaking at the SVR headquarters. “One of the priorities of the work of the Foreign Intelligence Service is assistance in the industrial and technological development of our country.”
Under the sanctions, Foreign Intelligence Service should strengthen the direction of stealing Western technology, Putin stressed.
*Once in the USSR, illegal intelligence was created specifically to steal technology
