...Первое, что увидел майор Лев Копелев в Восточной Пруссии, был труп старой женщины: «Ее одежда была порвана, между худыми бедрами стоял телефонный аппарат, трубка которого была воткнута во влагалище». За сочувствие немецкому населению и попытку оградить его от бесчинств красноармейцев, Копелев был арестован и отправлен в ГУЛАГ.

«В течение десятилетий трудящиеся всего мира смотрели на Москву так же, как неграмотные трудящиеся смотрели на Христа. Именно оттуда они ожидали освобождения от фашистского варварства. После долгих и мучительных гонений пришла славная и долгожданная Красная Армия, но какой же она оказалась!
Пьяные солдаты насиловали матерей на глазах их детей и мужей. Девочек в возрасте 12 лет отбирали у их отцов и матерей и насиловали группами по 10-15 солдат... ▪️В Маньчжурии красноармейцы убили около тысячи японских беженцев из задержанного там эшелона. Всего же, по японским оценкам, они убили в Маньчжурии около 11 тысяч мирных японских граждан.
Один из уцелевших японцев вспоминает: «Они убивали японцев просто ради того, чтобы убить. Я видел много трупов, проткнутых штыками. Горы и горы тел…»

▪️Американский военно-морской атташе, побывав в Маньчжурии, рассказывал:
«Русские солдаты врывались в дома и забирали себе все, кроме мебели. Затем подъезжал военный грузовик и увозил мебель. Советские офицеры обычно не обращали внимания на грабежи, учиняемые их подчиненными, а нередко и сами участвовали в них».

▪️Не только японские беженцы становились жертвами Красной армии. Досталось и китайцам. Начальник американской миссии, прибывшей в Шеньян (Мукден) для репатриации американских пленных, докладывал:
«Русские превзошли китайцев в грабежах, мародерстве и изнасилованиях. Женщин насилуют на автобусных остановках, железнодорожных вокзалах и иногда прямо на улицах. Местным властям предписано поставлять определенное число женщин советскому командованию каждую ночь. Красноармейцы занимаются только грабежами и убийствами. И они грабят не только японцев. Некоторые солдаты носят сразу десяток наручных часов... Среди советских военных мне довелось встретить и приличных людей, но таких – один из десяти».
