📌Muan crash is the first air disaster in the 20-year history of Jeju Air, South Korea's largest carrier. The company has operated the Boeing 737-800 since 2017, before which it belonged to Ryanair

📌According to Flightradar, this plane reported an emergency situation on board the day before: on the afternoon of December 27, Boeing 737-8AS was flying from Jeju to Beijing. In the middle of the flight, the plane had to be rerouted to Seoul, where it made an emergency landing, after which, 5 hours later, it continued its flight to China

⚡️✈️🇮🇳 The Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (r/n VT-ANB), operating from Ahmedabad to London, crashed today at approximately 1:43 PM IST in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad, #India, about five minutes after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
The last signal from the aircraft was recorded at an altitude of about 625 feet (approximately 190 meters).

🇮🇳🇬🇧🇵🇹🇨🇦 There were 242 people on board: 230 passengers and 12 crew members (2 pilots and 10 flight attendants). Among the passengers were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian.

More than 130 fatalities have been reported, but official figures aren't yet available. According to the latest data confirmed by authorities, 109 people survived.

The aircraft crashed in a residential area, damaging a building where medical students lived; around 20 of them were injured.

⚡️🇮🇳 All 242 people on board the Ahmedabad-London flight died, local outlet News18 reports. The information was confirmed to the BBC by the Ahmedabad police chief.

The crash was India's worst since 1978, when an Air India jet crashed off the coast of Mumbai killing 213 people, Reuters reported, and the first fatal crash involving the Boeing 787 since the type entered service in 2011.

According to Flightradar24 data, the aircraft had been operating routine long-haul flights in recent weeks. On the morning of its final departure, it had flown an hour from Delhi to Ahmedabad (flight AI423), having arrived safely before this from Paris at 1:34 a.m. on June 12.
