🇰🇷On January 11, Korean Air Force F-5E crashed into a mountain after take-off in Gyeonggi Province, the pilot tried to parachute to escape but failed.
South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense said that right after the F-5E took off at Suwon base, the warning light of the problem with both engines came on and the fighter began to lower its nose.
The fighter jet crashed into a mountain in Hwaseong city, Gyeonggi province, about 40 kilometers south of Seoul, just two minutes after takeoff.

The F-5E is an older generation fighter jet, developed by the US in the 1960s. South Korea has operated about 200 F-5s since the 1970s, most of which have been or are about to be retired.
The accident comes just a week after South Korea grounded its entire fleet of F-35 stealth fighters, after one had to make an emergency landing due to a system failure and the plane landed on his belly on the base.

Seven sailors were injured, the plane’s pilot “safely ejected” and was evacuated by a military helicopter, the US Navy said in a release.
This jet was assigned to Carrier Air Wing Two. However, there is only one squadron presently with that wing that is flying these aircraft, Strike Fighter Squadron 147 (VFA-147), the “Argonauts."

P.S. The Mi-8 fighter crashed the day before. As it became known at the moment, one of the crew members died, the second is in intensive care.
⚡️В Новгородской области во время взлета потерпел крушение истребитель МиГ-31. По официальным данным - "выкатился за пределы полосы".
Экипаж не пострадал.
P.S. Накануне разбился истребитель Ми-8. Как стало известно на данный момент, один из членов экипажа скончался, второй в реанимации.

⚡️An F-15 fighter jet belonging to Japan's Air Self-Defence Force disappeared from radars soon after takeoff from Komatsu Air Force Base.
The aircraft with two crew members on board flew 5 kilometres out into the Sea of Japan before all communications with it were lost.
The Coast Guard had dispatched several boats to the area where the jet might have crashed.
⚡️Истребитель F-15 ВВС Японии исчез с радаров вскоре после взлета с авиабазы Комацу.
Самолет с двумя членами экипажа на борту улетел примерно на 5 километров в Японское море, после чего связь с ним оборвалась.

The defence ministry suspects the jet have crashed

🇯🇵The search operation in the Sea of Japan has been going on for the third day already.
On Monday, an F-15J fighter from the Aggressor Squadron, which was conducting a training flight over the Sea of Japan, disappeared from radar near the Komatsu Air Self-Defense Force base of Japan.
Later were found fragments of the aircraft, but the missing pilots were still not found.
🇯🇵 Уже третий день продолжается поисковая операция в Японском море.
В понедельник недалеко от базы Воздушных сил самообороны Японии Комацу исчез с радаров истребитель F-15J из состава эскадрильи "Агрессор", проводивший тренировочный полет над Японским морем.
Позднее были найдены обломки самолета, но пропавших пилотов до сих пор не нашли.

▪️ minesweepers MSC-686 "Ukushima" and MSC-688 "Aishima";
▪️ support vessel for diving operations YDT-01;
▪️Patrol ships of the Coast Guard;
▪️ search and rescue helicopters.
К поискам пропавшего истребителя привлечены корабли Морских сил самообороны и береговой охраны Японии:
▪️вертолетоносец "Хьюга";
▪️эсминец DE 232 "Сендай";
▪️спасательный корабль подводных лодок ASR-403 "Чихайя";
