CBDT has introduced New specification in Form 26AS with various categories of Statement of Financial Transactions (SFTs)

1) Specified SFTs is now being shown in Part E of Form 26AS to facilitate voluntary compliance, tax accountability and ease of e-filing of returns.

2) This SFTs help the taxpayers to recall all their major financial transactions.

3) All Information u/s 285BA of I.T.Act regarding different SFTs will be shown in the New Form 26AS.

4) In part E of the Form 26AS display the Type of SFTs, Name of SFT Filer, Date, Single/Joint Party Transaction, Number of Parties, Amount, Mode of Payment & Remarks etc.

5) The New Form 26AS also provide information of transactions since Financial Year 2015-16 in the Annual Information Returns.
