RBI Policy Highlights

1. No change in policy rates

2. GDP growth projection reduced by ~1% to 9.5% for FY22

3. Inflation for FY22 expected to be 5%

4. Forward guidance to remain state dependent

5. Focus on equitable distribution of liquidity.

GSAP 1.0 additional INR 40k Cr auction, 60K cr completed. Out of 40k cr auction, 10k cr is for SDL.

*GSAP 2.0 of 1.2 Lakh crore (+20K cr vs GSAP1.0)*, (Positive for bond markets). All tools for liquidity management to continue

6. FX reserves at $598.2bn, may well cross $600bn soon. FX measures to ensure stability to continue.

7. Additional measures for impacted sectors

A. Separate liquidity window worth Rs 15k crore for contact-intensive sectors, till March 2022 with tenor of up to 3 years at repo rate

B. To extend special liquidity facility of Rs 16,000 crore to SIDBI for on-lending and refinancing

C. Expanding coverage of borrowers under Resolution Framework 2.0
