RBI governor's press conference held today:

1. RBI extends the three-month moratorium, from June 1 to August 31;

2. The interest on working capital facility for this 6 months allowed to be converted into term loan;

3. Repo rate reduced to by 40 basis points to 4%;

4. GDP growth is estimated to be in negative territory in FY 2020-2021;

5. Maximum permissible period of pre and post shipment of export credits increased from 1 year to 15 months;

6. Lending institutions are being permitted to restore the margins for working capital to the origin level by March 31, 2021;

7. The RBI Governor announced refinancing support to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore through all India financial institutions such as Nabard, SIDBI and NHB.
