CSS President Natalia Kovalenko and Director of project activities Olga Suslova became participants in the All-Russian Conference "Children's Adaptive Hockey as a Driver of Social Change".
Last Friday, Moscow hosted a conference dedicated to the issues of physical rehabilitation and social adaptation of children with disabilities. The participants discussed the issues of integrating children into society through sports, creating conditions for training, organizing sustainable team development, promotion, marketing and fundraising in NGOs.
The panel discussions were attended by experts from large grant-giving organizations and government bodies, psychologists and specialists in the field of adaptive sports. The participants discussed how sports contribute to the development of the child, what are the prospects for the development of disciplines of adaptive hockey as a sport of the highest achievements.
During the conference, thematic round tables were held on planning work in conditions of uncertainty, opportunities for monetization in social sports, and how parents and a coach can help a child believe in their success and limitless opportunities.
Olga Suslova:
“Over the three years of cooperation with the Federation of Adaptive Hockey, we fell in love with children and this sport, we can say that hockey is already in our blood. This is a powerful game that can become a kind of “social lift” and seriously change the life of a child, his family, and also give him the opportunity to feel that he can do something more, despite the apparent limitations.”

And today we want to share the news about the creation of a special developing space in the city of Vilyuchinsk, (Kamchatka Territory) as part of the "Happiness to be TOGETHER" project.
Colleagues from the center of the same name held an open day in a space equipped with classic Montessori materials for children with disabilities aged 2-9 years and their parents.
Within the framework of the project, which became the winner of the “Stronger with CSS” Grant Program, group trainings for parents with children will be launched, aimed at harmonizing family relations and mastering methods of psychological relief, art therapy, games, creative and developmental activities according to the Montessori system.

Благодаря победе в нашем конкурсе грантов «Сильнее с CSS-2021» и пятилетнему опыту и экспертизе коллег «родился» Центр, который объединил отдельные проекты и программы адресной помощи в единую экосистему, для максимального широкого доступа к его ресурсам кандидатов и замещающих семей, воспитывающих детей с особенностями развития.
Особо ценен проект для географически удалённых территорий, испытывающих дефицит доступности медицинской, реабилитационной, психологической и системной помощи.
Данный проект нацелен на поддержку:
☀️кандидатов в замещающие родители, чтобы помочь им оценить свою ресурсность в момент принятия решения о приёмном родительстве и выборе ребёнка;
☀️замещающих семей в адаптационный период, для профилактики возвратов, облегчения адаптации, помощи в построении индивидуального маршрута (медицинского, реабилитационного, адаптационного) для ребёнка на начальном этапе нахождения в семье, когда сложнее всего.
Что уже сделано:
✅ Доработана онлайн-площадка проекта: обеспечен удобный и быстрый доступ к Базе знаний, включающей всю необходимую информацию в максимально удобной и понятной форме.
✅ Оформлена и размещена программа обучающего курса, размещены записи вебинаров для самостоятельного изучения.
✅ Разработаны и размещены 4 видео- интервью со специалистами по различным детским диагнозам и заболеваниям
✅ Проведен учебный курс на 4 востребованных модуля - они перечислены на картинках к посту. 120 семей из 26 городов успешно прошли обучение
В следующем году планируется еще два подобных курса.

Thanks to the victory in our “Stronger with CSS-2021” grant competition and five years of experience and expertise of colleagues, was “born” the Center, which combined individual projects and targeted assistance programs into a single ecosystem, for the widest possible access to its resources for candidates and foster families raising children with developmental features.
The project is especially valuable for geographically remote areas experiencing a lack of access to medical, rehabilitation, psychological and systemic assistance.
This project aims to support:
☀️candidates for foster parents to help them assess their resourcefulness at the time of making a decision on foster parenthood and choosing a child;
☀️foster families during the adaptation period, to prevent returns, facilitate adaptation, help in building an individual route (medical, rehabilitation, adaptation) for a child at the initial stage of being in a family, when it is most difficult.
What has already been done:
✅ The online platform of the project has been improved: convenient and quick access to the Knowledge Base is provided, which includes all the necessary information in the most convenient and understandable form.
✅ The program of the training course has been designed and posted, recordings of webinars have been posted for self-study.
✅ 4 video interviews with specialists on various children's diagnoses and diseases developed and posted
✅ A training course was held for 4 popular modules - they are listed in the pictures to the post. 120 families from 26 cities successfully completed training
Two more courses are planned next year.
