AOBO!❤️

Meet Aobo, our K-pop dancer, also an EIT (KTH + Aalto) alumni and ASIC design engineer who plays with digital circuits design for work. She’s been in CSSADANCE for about 5 years. Dancing with energetic music, making progress in the performance group lightens her everyday life. Besides dancing, she enjoys climbing, surfing, downhill skiing, playing pipa/ukulele, mushroom picking, traveling, and exploring new hobbies :)

LINA 🥳🥳🌸

Meet Lina, our Chinese and K-pop dancer, and a PhD candidate at Aalto University School of Business. She has been part of CSSADANCE for three years and was also featured in the exciting 10th anniversary showcase in 2025 — one of her most memorable highlights with the team. For Lina, dance is her “anti-depression pill” during Finland’s long, cold, and dark winters. Just as important to her is the supportive, collaborative, and inspiring community the group has built together. She can’t wait to see you at the show on May 30th, 2026 — come share the energy with us! 💃✨

Meet Jenni, our K-pop instructor and dancer, and an alumna of biotechnology at Aalto University. She discovered K-pop as a teenager and has loved dancing ever since, while also enjoying styles such as Chinese traditional dance and street dance. Beyond dance, she enjoys martial arts, writing, and video games.

Meet Catherine (Xiangze Kong), our Chinese dance dancer. She is a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, specializing in battery cathode materials research. She joined CSSADANCE in 2024 and quickly became a vibrant part of the team. Last year, she performed in the unforgettable 2025 showcase, sharing the stage and energy with the whole crew.

For her dance is more than just movement; it is a way to recharge. After long days of research and experiments, dancing with friends from the team brings her joy, strength, and motivation, like “charging her social battery” again. Through Chinese dance, she hopes to express elegance, emotion, and connection, while continuously challenging herself to grow.

What she treasures most is the warmth and encouragement within the team: laughter during practice, the support backstage, and the feeling of creating something beautiful together. She hopes she can keep dancing for a long time, and she can’t wait to share that passion and energy with everyone on stage!

Meet Juan, our Chinese dance dancer and a first-year Master’s student at Aalto University. Having arrived in Finland just last year, she is delighted to have found such a fun and talented dance community in CSSADANCE. She loves the grace and elegance of Chinese dance and hopes to learn even more K-pop choreography in the future. Outside of dance, she enjoys walking, cycling, baking cakes, and watching movies, and she is especially looking forward to performing on May 30th.

Meet Chanh, one of the newest dancers in our group and our only male member. He studies at the University of Helsinki and loves performing energetic K-pop choreography and spending time with the team. Outside of dance, he also enjoys martial arts, video games, and board games.

Meet Shiling, our Chinese dance dancer and a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University. She enjoys astronomy, piano, painting, and basketball. Alongside her love for Chinese dance, she is also passionate about ballet and Latin dance, which she is currently exploring. She cherishes every opportunity to perform and invites you to experience the charm of dance with us.

Meet Vanshika, our K-pop dancer and a first-year Master’s student in Computer Science at Aalto University. This is her first year with CSSADANCE, and she is thrilled to be part of the group and all the exciting performances ahead. She loves K-pop, strawberries, reading, spending time with friends, and is currently learning how to paint.

Meet Tiina, our vice-chair and Chinese and K-pop dancer, as well as a fourth-year student at Aalto University. She danced ballet throughout her childhood, but discovered both K-pop and Chinese dance during university. Outside of dance, she enjoys watching TV series and playing chess online.

Meet Onnia, our new K-pop dancer in CSSADANCE and a first-year Engineering Psychology student at Aalto University. Since middle school, she has been dancing to energetic K-pop songs with friends from around the world. In her free time, she enjoys singing karaoke, playing the piano, and tabletop games. She is excited to share the many dances we have prepared with the audience.

Meet Soumya, our Chinese and K-pop dancer and Marketing team member, as well as a Master’s graduate in Security and Cloud Computing from Aalto University. Passionate about dance since childhood, she brings vibrant energy to every performance and can never resist moving her feet to good music. Outside of dance, she is a self-proclaimed sugar addict who enjoys painting, cherishes life’s little moments, small surprises, and everyday adventures.

Meet Chuyao, our Chinese and K-pop dancer and costume coordinator, as well as a third-year doctoral researcher at Aalto University. Trained in Latin and ballroom dance since childhood, she brings both elegance and energy to the stage, along with a sharp eye for many of our stage costumes. When she is not dancing or working, she is likely traveling, visiting museums, watching dramas, cooking, searching for good food, or spending time with friends and family.

Meet Jingyi, our Chair, General Director, Head Instructor, and lead dancer. An Aalto University alumna and architect with over 20+ years of dance and stage experience, she is the driving force of our group, the one who turns the impossible into possible.

Meet Sanem, our K-pop dancer and a first-year Chemical Engineering student at Aalto University. Having joined the performance group this season, she is especially excited for the showcase and upcoming performances. She was a synchronized ice skater for five years before deciding it was time to try something new — and dance became her next adventure. Outside of dance, she enjoys crocheting, watching TV shows, and solving New York Times puzzles.
