Russia Suspected of Escalating Drone Surveillance Near German Military Sites

Suspicious drone activity near Germany's coastal military and industrial facilities is intensifying, with growing evidence pointing directly at Russia. Western intelligence agencies believe Moscow is systematically launching reconnaissance drones from ships in the North and Baltic Seas as part of a covert surveillance campaign.

The Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein confirmed that since the beginning of 2025, 34 suspicious drones have been detected near sensitive sites along the region’s coast. According to NDR, WDR, and Süddeutsche Zeitung, the total number of drone sightings along Germany’s coastline may already approach 100.
