Thoughts on a potential Russian strike campaign against Ukrainian critical infrastructure.
I think Russia would be hard-pressed to actually conduct such campaign successfully, though an attempt would likely cause significant Ukrainian civilian casualties.

I believe the remaining stocks of modern long range cruise missiles now are too low to cause the level of damage their TV pundits are fantasizing about.
The main effort would have to be carried by Tu-22Ms, with AS-4s, which can cause considerable damage, but lack accuracy.

Heavy and sustained strikes with AS-4s would effectively be an area-bombing campaign, more about causing civilian casualties than hitting pin-point targets.
The second option would be to push manned aircraft further into Ukraine, which they now are reluctant to do.

This would then result in losses to Ukrainian air-defences, over time significantly degrading the Russian Air Force, for a questionable result.
Such an operation can be compared with Luftwaffes Operation Steinbock against the UK in early 1944.

This doesn't mean we won't see the occasional single, or grouped strikes against critical infrastructure, as we already have seen.
An attempt to conduct such a campaign will cause death and destruction, however the impact on Ukraines war-effort would likely be manageable.

Ukrainian forces confirmed east of the Oskil River near Kupyansk.

@DefMon3:
All these three are from roughly the same place. This last one helped with geolocation of the first one.

@Deficit_Hawk Bridgehead secured. That is a good thing, now they can widen it and secure crossings over the river
