Some statistical modelling done by Krejcie & Morgan and other statisticians suggest that for a sample of around 3000 people, a sample size of around 20%, i.e. data of 600 people is needed for accurate analysis of patterns or behaviours. Hence anyone claiming to know the trend will need data for those many people, otherwise the pattern analysis would be wrong. This much data is not available even to the Chairperson/members or the JS/US, so anyone claiming such trends is just doing creative writing. The level of secrecy and encryption that UPSC is maintaining post some recent events makes it almost next to impossible to get any data leaked, otherwise it would be a blot on the institution. Even if done, it is futile. It is all about the relative performance that matters. Even in optionals, if you have done well, you will get good marks regardless of the subject. You just have to be in the top bracket of that optional.

Similar thing goes with interview. If your interview has gone well, regardless of the board you will get good marks. All boards reward marks in almost the full range(120-200) with the 150-160 bracket being the most crowded, so it is only your performance on that day that matters. So, there is no point getting into the futile discussion as to which board has awarded good marks or which board has not. Just have trust on the outcome. It will be good regardless of what happens in FR-CSM-2024. Just enjoy this time, and keep your calm.
