Name- VIJIGISHU of Kautilya.
Board- B.B. Swain Sir
Date- 7th January(1st day of PT) afternoon shift, 2nd to go.
Key DAF Words-
watching movies on social issues, Following geopolitical developments ( there were other things like initiatives I have taken for swacch bharat abhiyan, about increasing girls enrollment in schools etc BUT NO QUESTION FROM THESE AREAS so skipping them).
Home state - Rajasthan.
Graduation - Rajasthan University.
Optional - PSIR
Questions asked-
Chairman-
Good afternoon, please sit down.
So you are(name) and watching movies on social issues is your hobby. ( He directly went on to ask the questions, there was no rapport building exercise as such).
Q. Why do u watch movies on social issues ?
Q. What is the latest movie that u watched recently- I answered with Lapata laddies.
Counter question-
Q. What are the social issues highlighted in the movie ?
I enumerated around 4 social issues in a pointer format.
At this point, the chairman asked other board member to ask further questions.
Board member 2- The most energetic man inside the board.
All of a sudden he started asking questions that were not specially prepared by me for the PT (though they were prepared during Mains)
Q. Have u heard about the Panchayats working as a government at the local level ?
Q. What were the amendments that brought them in ?
Q. Did panchayats existed even before the introduction of the 73rd and 74th Amendment ?
Then why were the Amendments brought in ?
Q. Aren't the panchayats a burden on the nation/people?
Then he went on to justify this notion and spoke for 1-2 minutes on this justification that they are not fiscally sustainable, dependent on state and union etc etc...
Q. What about the subjects that have been devolved to them and how much success in that endeavour ?
Ans- 11th and 12th Schedule and related issues.
Board member 3-
Ma'am - most lively and sweet. She was one who was constantly nodding her head when I was answering questions in those 25 minutes.
Q. Have u heard about Artificial intelligence.
I answered but still I think if I had read about it in those 15 days before the interview I could have answered well.
Q. What about social media...is it a tool of empowerment or something else ?
Q. Have u heard about Cyberbullying , what is it ?
Q. Can u give me an example of Cyberbullying ?
Q. What about regulation of coaching institutes ?
Q. Can u tell me about that law related to Ragging ?
Could not answer and said NO.
Board member 4.
Sir- Least lively.
Q. Have u heard about ERCP project?
Q. What is the old name of the University of Rajasthan?
I just skipped because I didn't know about the history of My university - epic blunder in my opinion.
Board member 5.
Sir-
Picked up counter questions on what ever asked untill now in the interview...
Q. What about the use of social media by the civil servants ?
Q. Should we curb the use of social media by bureacrats ?
Q. Do u know some civil servant who is using social media ?
Q. Should the words of civil servant speak or his actions ?
Board member 2- The energetic man
Q. Bangladesh crisis and it's implications on India?
Q. Do u think that Bangladesh is becoming "East Pakistan" ?
I replied with No and gave some justification.
But he insisted that so and so things are happening, army is in power etc. so looking at these developments we see East Pakistan emerging.
I again said that yes sir these things are happening but I gave some viewpoints and said that it is not correct to call it as East Pakistan.
"This was the question where they put pressure on me to accept that Yes Bangladesh is becoming East Pakistan"
Concluded.
Roadside wisdom-
Some of the mocks were good like Sanklap, Chanakayamandal, StudyIQ , NextIAS, Visionias.
Rest were just below notch. Go for around 5-6 good mocks atleast.
Mocks are essential to improve communication skills, face a board of 5 intelligent people.
Thanks
