I really feel that at personality test stage , when you are specifically asking for DAF; you should ask questions which will help one to understand personality of person. Even grilling by 1-2 members is also okay, to check calmness of a person , but random prelims facts expectation at PT seems problematic.
Though some of analytical questions asked, once you are successful to make person this uncomfortable, very difficult to bring best out of you. I wish UPSC had system where feedback for panels was also taken.
Anyway- for just in case scenario, read this panel transcripts, as to ask factual questions do not require any intelligence or creativity many are repeating.

I really feel that at personality test stage , when you are specifically asking for DAF; you should ask questions which will help one to understand personality of person. Even grilling by 1-2 members is also okay, to check calmness of a person , but random prelims facts expectation at PT seems problematic.
Though some of analytical questions asked, once you are successful to make person this uncomfortable, very difficult to bring best out of you. I wish UPSC had system where feedback for panels was also taken.
Anyway- for just in case scenario, read this panel transcripts, as to ask factual questions do not require any intelligence or creativity many are repeating.

Mood of room: Chair and members looking into my daf and chair welcomed me and gave me a good warm smile and asked me to sit and welcomed me to the conversation.
Chairman: questions on Boxing, Muhammad Ali, quoted Ali's famous "fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee" dialogue
1. Is Muhammad Ali you favourite.
2. What is your speciality in boxing?
3. What weight category did you play in?
4. What would you say if I say indians are violent (Said no i don't think so)
5. Why then we win medals in boxing and wrestling (contact sports with aggression) - said we also win medals in badminton and cricket and other sports moreover in a national perspective we have not attacked another country first except for our self defence.
6. Opinion on conducting olympics 2036, he added that it is economically not profitable so why don't we use the money for something else. (Said it has multifaceted aspects to it. Will grow the interest in sports which is important for youth and their health + improve india's prestige as a vishwaguru even further showing it's admin and program coordinating capacity once again after g20 summit)
7. What 1 skill would you want youth to be taught.( Said AI)
8. Be more specific- AI is so vast right( Said how to use AI and AI awareness for youth to overcome dis and misinformation through AI and AI hallucinations)
9. Choose 1 : invest in skill or olympics? ( Said if I could I would invest in both)
