Overall experience: Mostly Daf and opinion based. Board was very cordial. Made me comfortable in the beginning. The whole interview felt like a discussion. BOARD was very patient and listened to all that i Had to say.

You are an horticulturist with agriculture optional. That sounds good. Even I'm horticulturist.

1. Okay imagine we are in 2035, What are the three agricultural reforms do you think we should work on ?
2. Do you think budget allocation for agriculture must be improved?
3. Government has come up with establishment of new colleges and universities of agriculture and Horticulture just to bring skilled workforce in agriculture. Then why agriculture graduates are not taking up agri as a profession?
4. When compared to India, China leads in agriculture sector too , why and what we can learn from China ?

Chairperson: Might have noticed me in a nervous state. Read my name, district, state and degree subject to make me calm down.

1. So many discoms facing losses? Why can’t we have private discoms?
2. Benefits of having multiple discoms? Impact on consumers?
3. Power exchanges in India?
4. How power exchanges can improve functions of discom?
5. What is your opinion on surrogacy in India?
6. There is so much poverty in India, huge no of women would be in que?
7. How you want to regulate surrogacy?

M1: (very soft spoken lady and frequent cross questioning)
1. Long monologue on child adoption. Why so much delay in India? What are provisions? (mentioned CARA & DM’s told)
2. But why DM has to look into these matters? Don’t you think it’s an unnecessary burden of DM?
3. How can we reduce the delay in adoption process?
4. Difference between roles of DM & DC?
5. Are they same everywhere?
6. Some of security issues are civic in nature. Don’t you think granting L&O powers entirely in police may affect governance? ( earlier mentioned role of human trafficking networks in misusing adoption practices)
7. Training of IAS & IPS are also different. Isn’t it? ( told her about sensitive & empathetic policing practices)

( told him that though it’s already there, weightage of demographic performance can be enhanced)

M4: (Soft spoken lady- started with “We’re going to a completely different direction now!”)

1. Have you heard about widows of Vrindavan?
2. What these issues signify?
3. How can we improve their conditions?
4. Why there is so much of Singham1-2-3, why people want to watch these movies so much?
5. That means our criminal justice system is corrupt?


Overall experience: very relaxed atmosphere and I felt they tried to bring the best in me. Patiently listened to every answer even though I took brief pauses in some answers.

My 2 cents: Keep an open mind and be grateful. It’ll boost your performance. Never in last 3 months I thought about answering questions on adoption, surrogacy, widowhood. Luckily I could remember some points.

Overall, the board was cordial. The questions were mostly DAF based.

Overall I felt I performed the worst on the questions posed by chairman sir. The rest was decent.

I felt it could've gone a lot better and was miserable but then while writing the transcript I realised that it wasn't as bad as I felt.

Thanks a lot to everyone in the group. It was my first attempt so I feel I have a lot to learn. I met some great people in the central hall. I hope everyone makes it, even if it's before me.

Overall the interview experience was very delightful and board was extremely cordial. questions were largely based on my DAF and current affairs.. In a few opinion based questions, the board focused more on the reasoning I provided rather than the stand I took.

Mock - Vajiram, OnlyIAS, Chahal, Samkalp (All mocks were helpful in getting a good understanding of the interview process.)

One2one - Ravindran Sir (Vajiram), Mahesh Bhagwat Sir, Rahul Sir (ias pcs pathshala). O2O session with Mahesh Sir and Rahul Sir were helpful as they covered my daf very holistically. Although Rahul sir took one to one at very last momet but the session was very insightful.
