Date - 15/04/25 (The final call, Finally)
DAF - Lucknow, NITI aayog, Women Entrepreneurship Platform(WEP), Reliance, Telecom, Frontier Technologies, DPI, taking care of Street dogs
A roundtable with six equidistant seats and I was supposed to sit on one of the seats - quite close to other members. No need for a loud voice.

Chairman - Sheelvardhan Sir

So you are a Lucknow girl. What is Ganga Jamuna Tezeeb? I replied about syncretic culture in the doab region.
What is this syncretic culture? I said social harmony. Putting other people's needs first like Pehle aap in Lucknow.
That’s in Lucknow. Tell me about the broader region - I said, sir harmony developed over time. Not only in social and cultural terms , but also economic - For eg - Artisans from one community and merchants from another
Okay, so Chikankari Artisans in Lucknow. There is one big organisation. - I replied SEWA. How many artisans connected?- I replied negative
How is it faring? I replied - GI tag and global fame, but artisans are underpaid.
Situation of India-Pak war - you have been tasked to go to whichever countries and take whatever you want. Which 4 countries will you go and what will you ask.
Name Three strategic technologies that will change the future of mankind - Not convinced by my answer.

Member 1 -
Niti aayog - YP programme - what did you gain and what did NITI gain from you?
I mentioned presenting at international forum. Tell me more about it.
Have you heard about SVEP - small village entrepreneurship program. Can such schemes help women. What potential and steps do you envision.
Is WEP doing all of that.

Member 2 - Lady member
What was your DPI design and what problems did it solve
You take care of street dogs. What do you do?
Street dogs - becoming a menace - what solutions do you propose? I mentioned ABC rules 2023, 2001
Why not implemented on scale yet?

Member 3 -
So Reliance and NITI Aayog - what difference in the working culture ? I mentioned there are no weekends in Government - all chuckled.
So now in Reliance, better pay, more weekends - the mindset changes right?
What you learnt in NITI aayog, now you are using for Reliance.
Planning commission to NITI aayog, Just a name change? Is niti playing a good role for cooperative federalism

Member 4 - some complicated ethical questions
Chess - what was the last competition
How did you start playing chess?
Do you know about Xiangqi - explained that it is the Chinese version of Chess with some differences.
Private sector - profitability - I am not talking about Reliance - but is there a attitude of doing things even if they are not ethical
Quality assurance within an organisation. Do you think a nexus gets created that QA teams pass products by business teams with less stringency. What steps can be taken?
Long monologue on satellite communication - security and connectivity imperatives. What should be India’s strategy?

Some statistical modelling done by Krejcie & Morgan and other statisticians suggest that for a sample of around 3000 people, a sample size of around 20%, i.e. data of 600 people is needed for accurate analysis of patterns or behaviours. Hence anyone claiming to know the trend will need data for those many people, otherwise the pattern analysis would be wrong. This much data is not available even to the Chairperson/members or the JS/US, so anyone claiming such trends is just doing creative writing. The level of secrecy and encryption that UPSC is maintaining post some recent events makes it almost next to impossible to get any data leaked, otherwise it would be a blot on the institution. Even if done, it is futile. It is all about the relative performance that matters. Even in optionals, if you have done well, you will get good marks regardless of the subject. You just have to be in the top bracket of that optional.

Similar thing goes with interview. If your interview has gone well, regardless of the board you will get good marks. All boards reward marks in almost the full range(120-200) with the 150-160 bracket being the most crowded, so it is only your performance on that day that matters. So, there is no point getting into the futile discussion as to which board has awarded good marks or which board has not. Just have trust on the outcome. It will be good regardless of what happens in FR-CSM-2024. Just enjoy this time, and keep your calm.
