My experience - The interview was fully opinion based, ideological, and situation based. I did not mention even a single point on IR in DAF but still more than 30 percent of the interview was around IR. Overall, the interview mainly revolved around IR, Environment, and Civil Engineering. No factual questions were asked. No questions from my mathematics optional. One thing I really liked was that the board was actively listening and cooperative. They did not interrupt me at any point. No poker faces. Didn't counter my answers, but they wanted depth. So they kept continuing discussion based on what I was saying. I have given many mock interviews but not even a single mock touched 10 percent of the actual interview experience.

Mocks
O2O: Regular discussions with Rahul Sir and Atul Sir. They helped me a lot in framing answers and understanding how to respond.
PW OnlyIAS classes

Panel Mock: Keystone (Good), Vajirao and Reddy (Good questions but very grilling and did not let me speak), Samkalp (First one was very good, second one was grilling)
Unacademy (Amazing), PW OnlyIAS (grilled badly), EkamIAS (Good), SPM Academy (Vijender Chauhan Sir was very cooperative, didn't grill and asked very analytical questions), ALS (Touched areas which I was missing), Sri Ram IAS (BEST ONE), NEXT IAS (Another BEST ONE, KP Fabian Sir board was very cooperative), Shankar IAS Online (Good), Shikara IAS (Good)

DAF discussions
Satyendra Garg Sir(IPS retired) at Samkalp (very good clarity regarding DAF), Rahul Sir and Atul Sir, PW OnlyIAS, Satyam Sir and Neha Sharma ma’am(UNDERSTAND UPSC)

Special thanks to Quantel for booking slots. It feels great to interact with so many retired bureaucrats and amazing people during Interview Process. Special thanks to all the interview candidates I met. Everyone was very supportive and humble. Everyone tried to help. It was a great experience. Grateful to go through the Interview Process. Now the rest depends on destiny.

What I have learnt from interview. Focus should be more on analysis and having confidence even in things that you can't recall. Self review of answers through phone recording, Group discussions help more in confidence building and eloquation than mocks.

Lastly one should avoid negative people, even if they have been close to you, especially when dates are near.

Key DAF Details:Kerala, PSIR, Study on Rabies, Football, Arabic, Mentoring

Board: Sujata Chaturvedi
Time: Around 25 minutes. Third one to go.

Entered the room and greeted the board. The chairperson asked to sit. She read the key details of DAF aloud.

Chairperson:
1-Is this your first interview?
2-Which was the most difficult question you faced in previous interviews?
3-So what is the relation between aviyal and Kozhikode (Answer to earlier question)?
4-Who is samoothiri? Clarified it as Zamorins
5-Did you read newspapers today or yesterday? What are the important news headlines?
I started with Trump's tariff on Europe and tried to explain it. She intervened in between and asked me to list the headlines and she will decide on which question to ask.

6-What is GRAP? I mentioned Delhi pollution as news.
7-Who is in charge of GRAP? I hesitantly told it's CAQM. She was assuring me it's CAQM.
8-Who picked CAQM last week for non implementation of responsibility? Again I hesitantly said Supreme Court. She again was like it's right, why are you being hesitant.
9-Why CAQM is not able to tackle pollution? She asked me to not tell her technicalities on pollution, but focus on the activities of CAQM.
10-What is the word that is used to describe such actions of CAQM?
She said it's not an English test, but you may try it. I said reactive but she was looking for something else. I then said haphazard but it was also not what she intended. She said okay, leave it.

11-Why is the visit of the UAE president significant? Again picked up from my first answer on the news.
12-Have you heard of Islamic Nato? Who are its members?
13-Suppose in a hypothetical situation it is formed, what are its implications on India?
14-Which festival was celebrated just last week?
I said new year implying Sankranthi festivals. She thought I was talking about the Gregorian New Year. But some of the members clarified it to her.

15-Whether this celebrated in Kerala?
16-What is the significance of this?
I said about agriculture but she was looking for astronomical significance. I said I don't know. She said it's with regard to the position of the sun. Still I was not able to answer it. She said no issues leave it.

M1:
17-Why did Mughals have some writing in Arabic on the walls of their architectural structures?
I said it was calligraphy as Islam prohibits pictures of living beings. But he was not looking for that answer. He then told me he would give a clue and asked me what does the number 786 means. I said it represents the word ‘Bismillahi’ in Arabic. Still I could not connect with his question. So he explained to me that it denotes the date of the inscription.

18-How does Kerala react to football World cups?
19-Why football has huge popularity in Kerala and Bengal while it has less importance at a national level?

M2:
20-What is Indo-Pacific?
21-What is its significance? I started with China and he asked me if it was explicitly against China. I clarified that it was implicit and told other significant factors.
22-A short monologue on China's violation of international court's order on the East China Sea. How can we tackle that?
23-Why are there fewer tourists coming to Kerala nowadays?

M3 ( Lady Member):
24-You have done study on Rabies under NSS. NSS usually carries out developmental activities. So tell me about this study.
25-What is AYUSH?
26-Short monologue on Kerala's Ayurveda. Why is Ayurveda important in Kerala? (I couldn't remember the exact wording of the question. It was implying something similar to this).
27-How did Yoga become popular across the world?
