Things to Remember Before CSE Mains 2023
1. Read every question more than once and mark parts to the questions in the question paper before you start writing.
2. If possible skim through the entire question paper once before you get the answer booklet
3. Try to write at least 5-6 questions well in the first 10 10 markers
4. Wherever possible establish context to the question in your introduction or conclusion
5. Try to substantiate your arguments with relevant value addition in at least 50% of arguments in GS 1, 2 and 4 and 60% or more in GS 3
6. Avoid attempting case studies first as it may take more time than it deserves and compromise your section A in ethics
7. As far as possible work on the quality of introduction and conclusions. (Try making it multi value added wherever possible)
8. Wherever possible and relevant introduce maps / diagrams/ timelines to add diversity to answers
9. Explore application of tables in questions involving comparison/ cause-consequences etc.
10. Avoid over investing time / words and effort on questions where you have limited or no content.
11. As much as possible write specific content to the demand of question and start addressing the core demand as soon as possible.
12. If introducing a peripheral dimension, do not allocate more than 2-3 lines space a preferably do it just before the conclusion
13. Write answers as per the subject requirement, always ask yourself which part of the syllabus is the question aligned to before you start to write
14. Avoid making all your arguments a few keywords backed by long or multiple value additions.
15. Wherever possible bring novelty in your interpretation, approach, presentation and value addition.
16. Wherever possible highlight and segregate headings, sub headings, dimensions, keywords and value addition.
