Job Title: Java Backend Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Engineer with expertise in microservices architecture to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining microservices backend systems. Proficiency in Java, AWS services, PostgreSQL databases, shell scripting, Docker, SSH, Jenkins for CI/CD, and Maven as a dependencies manager is essential. Experience with Notion for bug tracking and documentation is considered a significant advantage. Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop scalable and resilient backend systems using microservices architecture principles.

• Utilize Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) to implement microservices-based solutions.

• Implement AWS services and deployment configurations to support scalable and reliable microservices deployments.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases to support microservices data storage and retrieval needs. • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation of deployment processes and system administration tasks.

• Containerize microservices using Docker and manage containerized environments efficiently.

• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation of deployment processes, system administration tasks, and environment setup.

• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated builds, tests, and deployments.

• Manage project dependencies using Maven and ensure smooth integration with the build process.

• Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure proper test coverage and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Proven experience working as a Java Backend Engineer with a focus on microservices architecture.

• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).

• Extensive experience with AWS services and deployment configurations (S3 Buckets, SQS, etc..)

• Experience designing and implementing microservices-based solutions.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and querying

• Extensive experience with shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.

• Solid understanding of Docker containers and container orchestration (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).

• Proficiency in SSH for secure remote access and system administration.

• Hands-on experience with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

• Experience with Maven as a dependencies manager.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Your role will be to deep dive into mountains of data and turn into actionable information points. The responsibilities will include:

* Gather, analyze, and present data on player engagements on various aspects of the game and on the publishing process. There are mountains of data points from advertising and attribution platforms to engagement, to in-game stats.
* Collaborating with various teams in the company to iterate various aspects of the game production and publishing.
* leveraging analytics tools such as Tableau or similar products to build and maintain operational dashboards. These dashboards will provide critical insights into game performance over time,
* Coaching the team on the importance and power of game analytics, ensuring that data-driven insights are integrated into every aspect of game development.
* The ability to learn and understand player behavior and preferences through A/B analysis and various similar concepts.
