8 big announcements from EthCC 2023🪙

⚡️Hi everyone, today Treysi will update you on the news from EthCC 2023 from Paris

1️⃣Lens V2 🌱
The social protocol has unveiled details of its big update, which is based on the Open Actions concept. It allows users and developers to "compose their own smart contracts" to perform the action of any external smart contracts on any Lens publications, including crosschain. In addition, Lens V2 features a new Profile Manager system that supports the ERC-6551 token standard.

2️⃣UniswapX 🦄
Briefly, UniswapX is based on a Dutch auction mechanism known as "Dutch orders", where the price of an order starts above the current market price and gradually decreases over time, incentivizing the order to be executed as soon as it becomes profitable. In doing so, UniswapX outsources routing tasks to market makers, which should help with more efficient pricing. UniswapX also features commission-free transactions, MEV protection, and no fees for secure transactions

3️⃣Chainlink CCIP
Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has launched on the mainnet.
The protocol is designed for communication between different blockchains. It initially supports Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon and Avalanche, and has already been adopted by DeFi giants like Aave and Synthetix. On CCIP runs, for example, the Synthetix Teleporter system, which burns and mines SUSD into Ethereum and Optimism.

4️⃣Starknet Appchains
Following Optomism Superchain, Arbitrum Orbit and its appchain/L3 startup framework, Starknet has launched. The first appchain should launch soon.

5️⃣Gnosis Pay + Gnosis Card
Gnosis introduced two new products at once - the Gnosis Pay payment system and the Gnosis Card debit card linked to non-custodial wallets. Gnosis Pay will use Gnosis Chain as L1 for "user savings accounts" and the new Polygon Supernet-based L2 for "spending accounts". For now, the card is only available to EU residents.

6️⃣Mantle Mainnet Alpha
Mantle is an L2 worth looking at because of its modularity: the network relies on its own transaction execution, Ethereum L1 for settlement and EigenLayer for data availability. The early phase of the network is primarily for developers, there's not much to do there yet, but that's likely to change soon - in the meantime, you can contribute funds to the bridge.

7️⃣Linea Mainnet Alpha
Another alpha mainnet, this time from the ConsenSys team. Linea is a zkEVM with native integration with Metamask and Infura, so it will be interesting to see what level of activity this network will eventually achieve (so far it's business as usual).

8️⃣EVM is expanding its sphere of influence
Tezos and Solana have tried to attract Ethereum developers to their networks. Tezos introduced on Etherlink, an EVM-enabled solution that enables onchain settlement. Solana announced Solang, a compiler that allows you to write smart contracts for Solana on Solidity. Nobody managed to kill Ethereum, now everybody wants to be friends with it.
