The Fed did not raise interest rates, but they still hurt the crypto market ⬇️

On June 14, the Fed finally stopped raising the interest rate - it remained at 5-5.25%. Market participants had been waiting for this event for a long time (more than 94% of investors were confident that the rate will remain at the same level), so the decision has already been embedded in the market.

➡️ But the most interesting lurks in the statements of Jerome Powell, namely his ideas and suggestions help to understand the general vector of the American economy development.

↪️ There was a lot of optimism before his speech, as U.S. annual inflation slowed to 4%, a two-year low. This is heartening, but Jerome Powell himself offset this good news (rate and CPI) with harsh statements at the press conference:

• Inflation hasn't come down enough. We need to get it back to 2% (now 4%, the best result in 2 years);
• The pause in the rate hike is temporary - the rate may be raised twice more this year alone;
• They are not even thinking of lowering the rate this year. Maybe in 2024, but not before.

The good news is this: Powell admitted that the peak on interest rates is close.

➡️ If the Fed's plan had been to lower rates before the end of the year, the markets might have cheered us up. But reality is handing the crypto market a new slap in the face, in addition to lawsuits from an embittered SEC, and bitcoin is falling below $25,000.

U.S. banks increase investment in MicroStrategy. Where will the price of BTC go?✈️

One of the world's largest investment firms, BlackRock, is about to launch an exchange traded fund (ETF) for bitcoin. This is an important step for the market, as the fund will now allow investors to buy bitcoin in the form of ETF shares from a regular brokerage account. As of the end of March, BlackRock had more than $9 trillion under management.

🔴The second largest U.S. bank, Bank of America, which manages more than $3 trillion in assets, invested an additional $59.5 million in MicroStrategy (which holds 140K BTC worth more than $3 billion). Its stake in MSTR has now grown to 2.3%.

🔴Another huge company, Fidality, with $4.5 trillion in assets, also increased its stake in MicroStrategy by 28,000% and now owns 1% of MSTR.

🔴And Canada's sixth-largest National Bank bought $500K worth of MicroStrategy stock this year. And Standard Chartered Bank predicted a long phase of BTC growth in 2024.

With the price of BTC down 60%, there was an opportunity for a very nice entry point for the whales. There is no longer any doubt that they are betting on the long-term growth of the asset's price.

Stablecoin and DeFi could be the SEC's next targets 📣

Berenberg Investment Bank (Germany) said in a report that the SEC may now focus on regulating stablcoins, including the two largest by market capitalization, Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC), as well as decentralized finance protocols in compliance with regulatory requirements.

⚫️If the SEC seeks to reduce the potential of unregulated DeFi protocols as a viable alternative to regulated lenders and exchanges, they could "target stablecoins that serve as the lifeblood of decentralized finance," write analysts led by Mark Palmer.

What is liquidation and why is it necessary? 📊

I decided to start one interesting section, in which I'm going to discuss popular crypto market terms. It will be useful for newbies. I decided to start with what we can't buy/sell our tokens without - liquidity.

⚫️In a nutshell, liquidity is the speed of transaction execution. If an asset has liquidity, then it has active buyers and sellers. When there is liquidity, we can make any coin transactions.

🟠Liquidity is a market characteristic of an asset which shows how much it is in demand. The more an asset can be sold at market price (without reducing its value), the higher its liquidity.

🟠What's wrong with not having enough liquidity?
We can't get out of position because no one wants our nickels. As a result, we hang on to the market. We become hostage to the situation.

Factors affecting liquidity:

🟠The bigger the market, the more traders.
Thereby making it easier to find a buyer or seller of an asset. This is influenced by the popularity of the asset.

🟠Number of trades on the market.
More trades = more traders = more orders = more liquidity.

🟠Quality of the asset and its prospects.
If a project is actively developed, it has a goal and prospects, it gives reason to speculate.

🟠Market structure and balance.
When market structure is efficient, it's easier for buyers and sellers to find each other and make deals.

Has the bitcoin-ETF trend pushed BTC to $31,000? 🔼

BlackRock is the world's largest investment firm with ~$9 trillion under management. On June 16, it officially filed for a spot Bitcoin ETF through its iShares division.

➡️ What is it?
A Bitcoin ETF is a spot fund whose shares will actually buy BTC on the market. This should make crypto ownership much easier for institutional investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, investment funds, hedge funds, banks, corporations, etc. That's a lot of money.

Interestingly, BlackRock has filed 576 applications for various ETFs throughout history and the SEC has only rejected them once. BUT, there were more than 30 attempts by different companies to create a real spot exchange-traded fund for BTC, but the SEC crushed all the attempts, citing lack of investor protection. Perhaps history will repeat itself.

Fed Chairman Jerome Powell recently acknowledged that BTC seems to have resilience as an asset class.

And the SEC has not touched BTC in any of its high-profile lawsuits in recent weeks. The Commission doesn't seem to have a claim against the asset.

↪️ A new trend?
Right after BlackRock, two other giants, Invesco ($1.4 trillion under management) and WisdomTree, filed for a spot bitcoin-ETF Fidelity ($4.5 trillion under management) is also rumored to be preparing an application.

➡️ The potential approval of an ETF for BlackRock could give the price of BTC and the entire crypto market a decent nudge because of the attraction of new money from big investors. With an asset bag like BlackRock, there is a lot of opportunity to manipulate the market, and it's worth remembering that often the big guys don't think about the industry, but come to the market just to make money. To make money from competitors and from retail, i.e. from you and me. And it is not yet clear how this will turn out for the market in the future.

Ways to scam in crypto 💻

I decided to dedicate a separate post to methods of cheating on the crypto market.

This is a very important topic, because someone really earns on it, which means that all the time there are victims who lose money. But I sincerely do not advise you to earn on scam, the purpose of this post is just a warning against losses.

🔴There are a huge number of types of scam, but I will list the main ones that a newbie in crypto can fall for:

1️⃣ Creating a new crypto channel, warming up the audience and breeding subscribers into a newly created coin, which according to the smart contract cannot be sold. As a result, people are left with millions or even billions of coins that are not only almost worthless, but also impossible to sell.

2️⃣ A message in a PM with a link to buy a token or connect your cryptocurrency wallet to the site. About the same as 1 point, but the scam cycle is much faster.

3️⃣ Creation of project duplicate pages and further, see point 2.

4️⃣ Theft of assets from wallets with the help of viruses (crazers, etc.). This often happens when you connect your wallet to an unknown and unverified site.

It's absolutely true that there are a lot of scammers in crypto. And they make a lot of money only because of our naivety and inattention.

When will the market grow? Theory from halving 📈

Hello all! Many of you have heard about halving, but not everyone understands its impact on cryptocurrency in general. I won't keep you in suspense, let's start figuring it out!

➡️ Every 4 years the so-called Halving happens. This event was the catalyst for the last 3 bullruns. Now it's time for us to get ready for the next one, 2024 is just around the corner.

↪️ Many are starting to buy crypto at the peak. At the bottom, not many people are interested in it because everyone is scared. Every time bitcoin has fallen from its ATH, most have watched and waited for an even bigger decline.

Security. Where to keep your assets? 💸

Today we'll touch on very important points about security and how to avoid unexpected losses. Let's begin!

1️⃣Keeping money on CEX exchanges.
Is the most common and easiest way to store assets, but also the most dangerous. You do not control the data from your wallet, and rely on security measures from the exchange.

There have been heaps of cases where exchanges have been hacked. Keep your funds at your own risk and do not neglect other methods.
Exchanges we use on a regular basis: Binance, BYBIT, Huobi, Kucoin, OKX.

2️⃣Storing funds on phone/pc wallets.
It is less dangerous option to use, because for the most part, you are responsible for the security here. There are risks of hacking into your devices, which can lead to the theft of assets. Always think about what you download and what applications you use. This way you minimize risks and losses.

3️⃣Storing funds on browser wallets.
Also one of the most common storage methods. You can access your assets from everywhere, but there is also the risk of hacking.

This is the main method we use. Create yourself several wallets and never connect one of them anywhere: Metamask, TrustWallet.

4️⃣Storing funds in hardware wallets.
Is the safest option for storing your assets, but requires an investment. These are devices where you can store your assets offline, only you have access.

The cost is worth it if you keep large sums of money and are serious about keeping your assets safe. Examples: Trezor, Ledger, Safepal.

Multichain bridge was hacked overnight for $126 million ⌨️

MultiChain was hacked tonight. Their amazing story has been going on for quite some time, so let's look into what they have going on here.

📉 MultiChain is going through a murky business!

At the end of May the first problems began to appear:

• At the beginning, users couldn't withdraw money from the protocol for a couple of days .
• Then the Multichain CEO simply disappeared, which provoked the shutdown of some servers, because only he had access to them.
• The token on this news naturally began to fall, and the outflow of money from the protocol.

And it seems that this situation was hushed up, promising a refund to all affected by this situation.

💸 But tonight there was another mishap:

• Some 57.5 million USDC, 1,024 BTC and 7,214 ETH, totaling about $121,000,000, were taken out of the bridge routers in several transactions.
• The project team doesn't understand how it happened and is investigating the incident right now.

Since there isn't any comment about the theft of funds, theories are spreading in the internet, that the Multichain team is taking away maximum amount of money before closing the company.

Tools for cid-phrase recovery🛡

Hi everyone, today let's talk about seed phrase security and recovery tools .Experiments have shown that if three words or less are missing, this is an easy task for a common software. The bad news is that if most of your cid-phrase is in the hands of attackers, they can use this method too.

🔩 Recovery is done by normal brute force. The BIP 39 list contains 2048 words, combinations of which are used to form all cid-phrases. Let's consider the number of combinations for enumeration and its maximum time depending on the number of missing words:
- 1 word missing: 2048 variants (2048^1). Time estimate: 6 seconds.
- Missing 2 words: 4,194,304 variants (2048^2). Time estimate: 90 seconds.
- Missing 3 words: 8,589,934,592 variants (2,048^3). Time estimate: 2 days.
- Missing 4 words: 17,592,186,044,416 variants (2048^4). Time estimate: 10 years, and here the window of opportunity is clearly closing.

⚒ Now to the tools. For the purposes of this post, we'll look at two: Seed Saviour for single missing word recovery and Btcrecover with more advanced features.

1️⃣ Seed Saviour works simply: go here, insert a Seed with a "?" in place of the missing word phrase and pretty quickly the tool will suggest all possible words and associated addresses.

2️⃣ BTCRecover is used for more complex scenarios, including when you don't remember the public address of the wallet. To install, you will need to unzip the archive from GitHub and install Python. Detailed instructions can be found here. The program supports different types of wallets from BTC to ETH and Dogecoin.

🚫 Can a hacker guess the initial phrase from scratch in this way? The chances of this are close to zero, with 12 words missing the number of combinations would be 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,463,373,374,607,431,768,211,456 (2048^12), leading to an estimate of a maximum time of a couple of eternities.

🗳 The reviewed software is completely open-source, the code can be explored on Github. Nevertheless, don't forget about precautions and don't insert sids from major wallets without real need, especially if you can't check the code yourself.

🟠FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) - is a fear of missing out, an obsessive fear of missing out on something important, interesting. This term is dense in the crypto segment and it can be called the main cause of self-destruction.

Hi everyone, Traysi here today to talk about the news about cryptocurrencies. Coingecko conducted a research on this topic and found out some curious points.

🟢The most expensive cryptodomain ever was paradigm.eth, sold for $1.51 million (420 ETH). Second place went to 000.eth, which cost the buyer (and brought the seller) $320 thousand. Third was abc.eth - the most expensive three-letter domain, sold for $250 thousand. Next come deepak.eth ($220 thousand), porno.eth ($204 thousand), mazars.eth ($195 thousand), artdao.eth ($194 thousand), sapdeutschland.eth ($179 thousand), ensmaxisnft.eth ($166 thousand) and opensea.eth ($164 thousand).

🟢The top ten most expensive crypto domains are currently only ENS, although the study also analyzed Unstoppable Domains, SpaceID and Lens.
🟢The most expensive of the Unstoppable Domains were business.crypto ($120k), sex.crypto ($90k) and sex69.crypto ($69k).

🟢And the main thing is that even the top ENS was 20 times cheaper than the most expensive web2 domain. Voice.com was sold for $30 mln. Next are NFTs.com ($15 mln), Sex.com ($13 mln), Tesla.com ($11 mln) and Connect.com ($10 mln).

Polygon Labs have proposed rebranding the MATIC token, POL?⚡️

As part of the Polygon 2.0 roadmap, the developers have proposed to improve the MATIC token and rename it POL. "The new POL token will be integrated into absolutely all services in the ecosystem (including Proof-of-Stake, zkEVM and Supernets). And will open up new revenue opportunities for validators: rewards for protocol maintenance, transaction fees and additional rewards.

❗️It's important to realize that the transition will not happen immediately. The developers have set aside as much as four years for the realization of the idea.
