Airdrops: basic concepts π
Friends, we decided to experiment with our content and give you some educational content. To begin with, we decided to write a brief introduction to the direction of "airdrops". We would appreciate your support.
π Airdrops are giveaways of tokens for users who have taken certain actions to develop a project in the past.
The main purpose of an airdrop: creating a hype around the project and attract new users (a marketing ploy).
βοΈ As we have already written, projects reward users who have taken meaningful actions in the past. These can be, for example:
β’ swaps (exchanging one coin for another);
β’ adding liquidity to the pool;
β’ buying/selling NFTs, etc.
π₯ How to make money on this?
Unfortunately, the correct answer does not exist, because only the project itself decides this. The criteria for getting a drop are unknown in advance. The main airdrops were obtained for the active use of protocols: swaps (Uniswap), the use of the bridge (Biconomy), etc. Sometimes it's enough just to join the project discord and write GM.
It would seem that everything is simple, but no.
π Not all projects go through the airdrop token distribution model.
π The biggest project drops have occurred on the Ethereum network, where commissions for swaps or liquidity additions can reach several hundred per transaction.
π It is possible not to guess the actions for which the drop is due, or we made them untimely (after snapshot, i.e., snapshot of the blockchain (wallets) state).
Despite the above factors, airdrop is one of the most attractive areas in terms of risk-reward ratio.

PEPE: how memcoins outperform top projects πΈ

Friends, many of you have already heard about PEPE memcoin and how many people have made millions of dollars on it. In this post, we would like to take apart this situation with PEPE and understand what is happening with it now.
β‘οΈ On May 5, Binance listed PEPE memcoin on its site. This caused a big haip around the project and many people started buying token, adding more and more liquidity and pushing the token up. At its peak, the token reached a capitalization of $1 billion and reached #45 on Coinmarketcap. The whole PEPE situation looks more like the usual speculation and "hamster casino."
βͺοΈ Some information about PEPE:
β’ PEPE became the fastest growing ERC-20 token in crypto history, reaching 107k holders in just 23 days;
β’ PEPE started memcoin season, resulting in Ethereum and Bitcoin networks still experiencing congestion and increased fees;
β’ ΠΠ±ΡΡΠΌ PEPE trading fell from ATH about $2.5 billion (May 5) to $605 million today.
β‘οΈ As you can see, the PEPE chart is very similar to the average memcoin chart. Although this topic are super risky and often have no fundamentals/value. They do a great job of attracting new users to Web3.
