Neural network for empathy
Neural networks have been very actively spreading their influence over the past year. They write code, theses, books, draw, create very high-quality fakes. Many users complain that artificial intelligence will deprive them of their jobs.
However, neural networks have gone even further — they seek to replace people from emotional POV. DeepMind and LinkedIn co-founders Mustafa Suleyman and Reid Hoffman launched the chatbot called Pi. He doesn't know how to complete tasks like ChatGPT but he can empathize and carry on a conversation almost like a real person.
It was created specifically for talking with, sharing thoughts and feelings. In general, such a project already exists, the Bard neural network from Google. But it failed during the presentation. Both Bard and ChatGPT can answer questions but they don't know how follow the conversation and ask counter questions.
Maybe very soon neural networks will pass the minimal Turing test — they will imitate human communication so much that it will be difficult to guess that this is just a code, not a real person.

Apple quarterly report
