πŸ— Key points from Donald Trump's speech at Bitcoin 2024 conference:

πŸ”Ή The US must take the lead in the crypto industry, or China will.

πŸ”Ή On his first day in office, Trump will fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler.

πŸ”Ή A Bitcoin and cryptocurrency advisory board will be created.

πŸ”Ή Confiscated bitcoins (213k BTC) will not be sold but will form a strategic reserve for the US.

πŸ”Ή Trump will ease the sentence for Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.

πŸ”Ή He will oppose the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

πŸ”Ή Despite previous statements, Trump now says that Bitcoin does not threaten the dollar.

The market reacted very positively to Donald Trump's speech and the price of Bitcoin jumped to $69,800. πŸ“ˆπŸ’°

Exactly 14 years ago on this day, Satoshi Nakamoto wrote a legendary phrase on the Bitcointalk forum:

"If you don't believe me, or don't understand, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry."

πŸ“ This statement was made during the early days of Bitcoin's development when Satoshi was actively engaging with the community to explain the concept and mechanics of Bitcoin.

The message reflects Satoshi's firm belief in the revolutionary potential of Bitcoin and the frustration with skeptics who didn't grasp the vision. πŸš€

This phrase has since become iconic, symbolizing the unwavering conviction of Bitcoin's creator in the face of doubt and criticism.

Is it time for a new Bitcoin ATH?

πŸ‘€ Investor and Okse co-founder, known on Twitter as Elja, believes so. He stated that Bitcoin's post-halving consolidation is "practically over."

Previously, Standard Chartered predicted that Bitcoin could reach a new all-time high in August and then rise to $100,000 by the U.S. presidential election in November. πŸš€

Do we believe it? Yes - πŸ”₯

August has always been slow for crypto growth, the new ATH will be in September. - πŸ‘

We're being fooled, the bull market is already over. - πŸ‘Ž

🐳 Another ancient Bitcoin wallet containing a fortune (by today's standards) has awakened from its slumber.

The funds hadn't moved for 12 yearsβ€”since 2012!

And what's on it is no small amountβ€”37 BTC (worth $2.5 million at today's rate). Back in 2012, it was only $476! πŸ™€

Now that's what I call willpower! πŸ’ͺ

πŸš€ Mempool has launched a Bitcoin transaction acceleration service!

πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»The Mempool team introduced an off-chain Bitcoin transaction acceleration service through partnerships with mining pools. This service is especially useful during sudden changes in fees.

They collaborate with Foundry USA Pool, MARA Pool, SBICrypto, SpiderPool, and Ocean Pool, covering ~40% of the hashrate. 🧐

Users will need to pay an additional fee for mining and service to confirm "stuck" transfers via Mempool Accelerator.

πŸ‘€ Here's how it works:

1. Search for the transaction on mempool.space.

2. Select the acceleration option.

3. Pay with Bitcoin via Lightning Network (LN) or fiat through Cash App, Apple Pay, or Google Pay without registration.

Mempool sends a request to partners who decide on acceleration based on the new fee rate. The transaction isn’t replaced but given higher priority, increasing its chances of validation in the next block. ⏳

Indian exchange WazirX seeks Binance's help after a $230 million hack. 🧐

Binance holds WRX tokens worth $80 million and controls the company's additional revenue. πŸ’°

The exchange also announced a controversial plan to "socialize" the losses among all users.

πŸ‘€ The company plans to return only 55% of users' assets, while the remaining 45% will be locked. This will affect even those whose assets were not stolen. 🀷

Bitcoin Miners Start New Accumulation Phase for Potential Growth πŸ“ˆ

πŸ”Ž According to CryptoQuant, the seven-day moving average of coin inflows to miner-affiliated wallets has sharply increased. Over the past week, more than 1900 BTC (~$132.5 million) have been sent to these addresses.

πŸ”¨ Mining companies are likely entering a new phase of Bitcoin accumulation to benefit from the potential rise in asset value, according to BRN analyst Valentin Fournier.

πŸ“ Fournier states that besides mining rewards, major players seem to be purchasing Bitcoin directly from the market to increase their reserves.

"They have triggered the Hash Ribbon signal, a long-term bullish indicator highlighting the end of miner capitulation and the increase of the processing power used to mine bitcoin,"

- he added.

This behavior shows confidence in Bitcoin's long-term prospects. πŸš€

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ The U.S. government has transferred approximately 30K BTC ($2 billion) to new wallets.

πŸ‘€ It is assumed that 10K BTC were sent to an institutional custodial service and are likely to be sold over-the-counter (OTC).

Earlier, Donald Trump stated that he would not sell confiscated bitcoins if he becomes president. 🀷

However, it might happen that he won’t have anything to deal with by the time of his election 😁 (which is not guaranteed, by the way).

πŸ“ˆ The market reacted very nervously to the news, with Bitcoin's price even breaking the $66K level. Currently, digital gold is trading at $66,800.

Heather Morgan, infamous for her role in the 2016 Bitfinex hack, was recently spotted at Bitcoin Conference 2024 in Nashville. 🀷

πŸ‘€ Known as "Razzlekhan," Morgan pleaded guilty to the hack, which stole 120,000 BTC, but is free on bail awaiting her sentencing in November 2024.

Her presence at crypto events has raised eyebrows and sparked controversy within the community. 🧐

Some suspect she might be using her social engineering skills for government gain, while others argue her attendance conflicts with Bitcoin's ethos of inclusivity.

Bitcoin developer Jameson Lopp has called for her exclusion, citing security concerns. The debate highlights tensions between community openness and the need to safeguard events from potential threats. πŸ€”

Mt. Gox moved bitcoins again during the night.

In three transactions, over $8 billion was transferred, with $2.25 billion going to an unmarked address. 🧐

This has not particularly affected the market; the price of Bitcoin fluctuates around $66,000, which supports the idea that when the market needs a reason for a correction, it finds one, as was the case yesterday with the U.S. government bitcoins. 🀷

πŸ‘€ It was previously reported that a roundtable meeting with him cost $844,600 per person, and a photograph cost $60,000.

Trump’s campaign also raised around $6 million in cryptocurrency donations.

🀷 However, according to a Bloomberg survey, this has not significantly helped Trump yet; Kamala Harris has surpassed Donald Trump in popularity in seven 'swing' states.

Terra Blockchain Relaunched After $5.2M Hack πŸ₯·

On July 31, a hacker attacked the Terra (Phoenix-1) network, stealing digital assets worth approximately $5.2 million.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»Developers halted the blockchain at height #11,430,400 to apply necessary fixes.

β€œWe will be working with the validators on Terra (phoenix-1) to apply an emergency patch thereafter to remediate a suspected exploit,”

- stated the developers.

According to Beosin Alert analysts, the hacker stole 60 million ASTRO, 3.5 million USDC, 500,000 USDT, and 2.7 BTC.

The attacker exploited a reentrancy vulnerability linked to the third-party IBC hooks module, which facilitates cross-chain contract calls and token transfers.

The vulnerability was identified in April. 🀷

Three and a half hours after the shutdown, Terra resumed block production following an emergency update. At the time of the post, 67% of validators had updated their nodes to prevent further attacks. ⏳
