Christmas in August! I just found an extra $5,797 USD ! Back in 2016 I bought about $105 of Bitcoin back when Bitcoin was $675.17 USD. I thought I had spent it all but I guess I didn't. Got an email from Coinbase today and decided to check the account and almost sh*t my pants!

Why are Bitcoiners so toxic and so closed minded?
Content: I'm in multiple Bitcoin groups, trying to promote debate and open the minds of people to new ideas and new perspectives. However one thing in common I find in all of them is the toxicity, denial of facts and denial of math, and people evading any type of debate at all costs. Most of the time I feel like I put effort for nothing, very few people take what I write in these groups seriously. And that's in the few cases I don't get straight up banned and censored.

In a recent case, I mathematically demonstrated why Bitcoin will not grow any close as Bitcoiners believe it will. The BTC blockchain averages at about 3tx/s. Maximalists tell you to use Lightning, so opening/closing a Lightning channel once a month equals 24 transactions per year per user. That means Bitcoin with Lightning would scale, at most for a bit less than 4 million people.

Nobody attacked this argument anyhow. I was called a shitcoiner, HFSP, scammer, baiter, and the others you are probably used to. I haven't even mentioned any other cryptos whatsoever.

Now, I am slowly getting more people to open their minds. Bitcoin isn't what most think it is, their developers are directly related to bankers and big payment processors and they harm the network for personal gain.

But how come is the Bitcoin community so shit? How did that happen?

In 10 years…
Content: Your $1 will be worth around 85c

Your now awesome GPU will be struggling to run the latest games on medium settings

Your cool new shoes will be worn and out of fashion

Your smart watch will be dumb and featureless compared to the latest models

Your #1 stock pick will have been overtaken by unforeseen competition

In the modern world everything is fleeting, constantly replaced and renewed, devalued.

In 10 years there will still only be 21,000,000 bitcoins available. Bitcoin is the only digital shelter against entropy.

Tldr: Bitcoin is deflationary (sort of).

What happens is if the future SHA256 is found to have security vulnerabilities? Is there a way to change the hash function that Bitcoin uses?
Content: Title says it all. please let me know your thoughts on this. This is something I’ve been thinking about for some time, but I never hear anyone bringing up this issue. While it is impossible to reverse right now, that may not be the case in the future. We just don’t know, and can’t really know if there is a way to reverse hashes, because if we did, it wouldn’t be much of a hash function. How can we be so sure that it can’t be reversed? I want real answers not no HODL ape stuff, or that it would take longer to crack through brute force than the heat death of the universe.

I feel good about this!
Content: After leaving the crypto space behind for some time (BTC<$1k),

Having left my saving in the bank and tied up housing and finance, I did not feel like I was doing anything worthwhile with my money. Then I came across the Cardano project.

I truly feel that this project will change the world for the better and help some of our most impoverished and desperate have a better life.

A very big thank you to the entire Cardano team for your vision and persistence. I will be eagerly watching the evolution of this project going forward.

$DOGECOIN to $758 in 5 years?
Content: Frens,

Good evening.

I apologize if this has already been discussed but I wanted to share some #math I've worked out on $DOGECOIN and would like to hear your thoughts.

Elon has said he's going to fund missions to the moon and mars with $DOGECOIN. According to Google one mission to the moon currently costs about 30 billion for the trip and another 20 billion for the shuttle so let's say 50 billion all together.

Divide that by the current price of $DOGE and you get roughly 166 billion coins necessary to fund the trip.

Per Google there are only 130 billion coins in circulation and of those 130 billion only about 10-20 available for purchase.

Mining rate of dogecoin is 5 billion coins per year so at that rate it would take roughly 6 more years that even have enough in circulation to fund one trip.

It is my understanding that Elon intends to do one of these missions on a yearly basis, whether that be to the moon or Mars.

So if he hasn't purchased the coins yet there will be far less supply than necessary to fund the trip correct? 10-20 billion available and 160 billion needed. Is this math correct? Am I missing something? What are your thoughts?

The price of bitcoin in 2010 was 0.003 and ended the year at 0.30, very similar to what has happened and is happening to dogecoin now. In year two it went from 0.30 to 4.78. By year 4-5 it peaked at about 758 before dropping into the 300s. If Elon is to create a supply shock relatable to the absolute scarcity of big brother I'm not saying history is going to repeat itself, just saying that it often rhymes.
