Newb question - New user in UK, sending initial amount by bank transfer, getting rejected each time
Content: As per title: I’m sending an initial amount to set up the bank transfer option (£5), but it’s getting refunded to my bank account 5mins later.

Bank is fully capable of faster payments, and all details are entered correctly.

Any ideas??

lower costs for Credit Card Deposit on Exchanges!
Content: Hey guys,

Binance just made it harder to deposit FIAT currencies - at least EUR - they have this P2P solution where on average you pay more than 2% fees and just this week they pushed out 1,8% fees for Credit Card Deposit.

Has anyone an idea where I can save this costs - are there platforms who are cheaper for bringing FIAT money in..?

I had two accounts one personal account on Coinbase.com and one business account on Coinbase commerce. Personal account disabled June 2020. Commerce account disabled June 2021. Despite contacting support on several occasions, no response whatsoever. According to Coinbase terms if a complaint is not answered within the time frame specified by Coinbase (20 business days) the user can file a complaint at Ombudsman. I believe it is time to take this further for an official complaint. This type of businesses should be banned in the UK & Ireland. I lost over 100k in Coinbase.

4.13 Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. If you have a complaint relating to the E-Money Services provided to you by Coinbase Ireland, and that complaint cannot be resolved through the dispute process set out in Section 10.3, you may then be able to take unresolved complaints to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman ("FSPO"). You agree that you will not raise a complaint with the FSPO until the dispute process set out in Section 10.3 has been completed.

Capital gains clarification please
Content: So I understand the basics on capital gains except for how the one year investment time works. Is it for each taxable year or is it from the time of each investment?

So for example I've invested 5k starting in Aug. of a calendar year. I've made of total of 10k by next Jan. Let's say I DCAd, making monthly installments. Is the capital gains date calculated per year as a lump sum? So even though I started in Aug. it still counts for the whole year of 2021. OR is it per DCA investment? Hopefully I'm making the question clear, thanks for any help.

Hacked and locked out!
Content: I am locked out of my account and support is not very helpful. I received a text yesterday that my password had been changed. I then started receiving verification texts with codes and at least 20 phone calls with an automated response requesting the codes. I have screenshots of the calls, texts, and transcribed voicemails. I locked the account bc it was clearly fraudulent activity. Support gave me case number and sent me a message today telling me to log in and follow prompts. I CANT LOG IN! I am locked out of my account and my credentials have been changed.

6 reasons this Bitcoin bull run is going to be way bigger than anybody expects
Content: 1) Risk averse investors like Ray Dalio, Paul Tudor Jones, big commercial banks like JPMorgan and Wells Fargo are getting into Bitcoin and starting to see it as one of the best SoV asset.

2) Lightning Network is growing and getting adopted rapidly. It's the main reason for El Salvador legal tender adoption which is coming in the first week of September. Twitter will have Lightning integration soon. Square is building DeFi on Bitcoin. JP Sears launched a social network on Lightning. African startup Bitnob started using Lightning to provide cheap remittance services.

3) Countries like India and many other Asian countries are getting into Bitcoin in a major way. India is the second most populous country in the world and the second biggest market for gold. But the younger generation in India is turning to Bitcoin instead of gold. Crypto investments in India have gone up 700% in the last year.

4) Taproot upgrade is an important evolution for Bitcoin to improve privacy and scalability. It's coming in November. This upgrade will let Bitcoin have scriptless smart contract integrations via layer 2 protocols.

5) Infrastructure bill controversy had a Streisand effect for Bitcoin. Many politicians are publicly showing support for cryptocurrency and it has caused a spike in interest overall both in the US and abroad.

6) Last but not least, trust in fiat currency is at an all time low. 10% annual inflation is considered to be hyperinflation. The largest economy in the world USA is currently at 6% annual inflation. Other countries holding dollar reserves will be affected even worse.
