🧐Did you know that in 75 BC, pirates captured none other than Gaius Julius Caesar himself?

👀When Julius was 25, he traveled to Rhodes to study oratory and was abducted by a loud gang of Cilician pirates. However, we have to give props to Caesar for not only displaying no fear but also humiliating the ancient sea dogs during the 38 days of his captivity.

☝️Caesar approached his kidnappers as if he had been their commander. He mocked them for being illiterate fools, yelled at them for disturbing his sleep, and threatened to crucify them. Moreover, the Roman Emperor was offended by the low ransom of just 20 talents, increased it to 50, and then, after the money was paid, gathered his troops, arrested the pirate captors, and later delivered on his threat. They were all crucified.

📏Homunculi are generally smaller than humans, but this organ can reach several meters.

🌑Their natural habitat is in the darker areas of space. They are lured by the smell of human blood.

🙀Homunculus clings to its victim’s skin with a large serrated bothrium and then sucks all the blood together with internal organs in just a few seconds.

🤝Sometimes homunculi unite in groups of several species and attack ships and hermit dwellings.

🧐The fact that these cryptids bear huge resemblance to humans makes their origin fascinating. However, it’s still a mystery. The working theory states that once they were unwanted children that got thrown into the Abyss.

👩‍🔬There are several groups of Natural Philosophers involved in the research of Homunculi, but their work is progressing very slowly due to the high difficulty in obtaining samples.
