🤙 Ahoy, pirates! The setting for Crypto Pirates is inspired by the novels of Neil Stevenson, Paul de Phillipe, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Thomas Redford.

👀 We also drew our inspiration from the numerous fantastic films, TV series, and video games about pirates, for example, "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Black Sails", and "Sid Meier's Pirates". And many many others as we are huge fans of fiction about corsairs and buccaneers. 😎

🏛 We also thoroughly studied the history of piracy, the reasons behind its emergence, and the junction of the Renaissance and Enlightenment epochs.

🏴‍☠️ To give more life to our in-game notifications, we examined the Navalese (or the pirate’s lingo), the sailor’s life on a pirate ship, and their ethos.

😈These wicked beasts lurk in the darkest reaches of space luring ships with their rod. No scientists can explain how this bait functions.

👻 The harbinger is one of the most enigmatic cryptids that inhabit the depths of space. Some say that this is just a boogie monster made up to scare children. Others whisper that the harbinger may lie dormant on any path, waiting for pirates passing by, and a meeting with him promises a swift demise.

😯 There are also those who claim that they survived the encounter with the harbinger. By their accounts, they heard the ticking of many clocks. Some of their crewmates began to age quickly, others started to grow younger, and some lucky devils had their wounds and old scars disappear, and even recovered limbs that had been lost in past battles.

🙊 These stories convinced natural philosophers that these poor storytellers met something terrifying and lost their minds. After all, there is no tangible evidence not only of any encounters with harbingers but also of their very existence.
