This is according to court documents indicating that cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex is entitled to damages for a hack that occurred in 2016 that resulted in the theft of 120,000 BTC.
Bitfinex has already compensated users through alternative means.
The company is actively cooperating with law enforcement to recover stolen assets. Bitfinex may now recover about $5.8bn.
