1. never short something in price discovery
2. never short high momo
3. never short uptrends

you will feel like a 180 IQ when you hit it once, but you'll get blown out the other 9 times

there are easier battles to fight

sounds like common sense but you'll be surprised because people are always tempted to pull off a BIG SHORT or they try to be contrarian to feel smarter than the average market participant

market always checks your ego for you if you don't

there will be 1% of players that can time their shorts disgustingly well, but i believe they would advise you against following them too
