💗 Ever wondered why a remote Web3 job is only available in certain countries?

You find a role that matches your experience, it's advertised as remote, but then you notice: US only, EU residents, or specific time zones.

Why does this happen?

There are a few reasons companies might restrict where they hire:

» Legal and tax requirements: Hiring someone in another country can create additional employment, payroll and tax obligations.

» Time zone overlap: Some teams need people available during specific hours for meetings, customer support or collaboration.

» Employment arrangements: A company might only be set up to hire employees in certain countries, even if it works with international contractors.

» Work authorization: Certain positions require candidates to already have permission to work in a particular country.

So even in an industry as globally connected as Web3, remote doesn't always mean worldwide.

And being outside the eligible region doesn't necessarily mean you're unqualified for the role.

Next time you find an interesting opening, check the location and employment requirements before investing time in the application.

💬 Have you ever found a great opportunity only to discover it wasn't available in your country?

💗 Why do some job openings stay active for weeks?

Seeing the same vacancy advertised for a long time doesn't necessarily mean the company isn't hiring.

There are several reasons a position might remain open:

1. The company is still evaluating candidates.
Recruiters may be interviewing applicants while continuing to accept new ones. A job listing doesn't always close when interviews begin.

2. The role requires specialized experience.
Some positions need a combination of technical knowledge, industry familiarity and professional experience that can take longer to find.

3. The hiring requirements have changed.
A team might adjust the responsibilities, seniority level or compensation range after reviewing the available candidates.

4. Multiple positions are being filled.
One job listing may remain active because the company is recruiting several people for similar responsibilities.

5. The listing hasn't been updated.
Sometimes vacancies remain published even after recruitment has paused or the position has been filled.

What does this mean for job seekers?
Don't automatically dismiss a position because it's been advertised for several weeks.

Check when it was last updated, whether applications are still being accepted and whether the role is still listed on the company's official careers page.

An older listing isn't necessarily a bad opportunity, but it's worth verifying before investing time in an application.

💗 The company reposted the job you applied for. Does that mean you were rejected?

Not necessarily. And it doesn't automatically mean you should apply again.

There are several reasons a company might repost a vacancy, even while applications are being reviewed.

1. They haven't found the right candidate yet
The company may still be interviewing people but wants to attract additional applicants before making a decision.

2. The listing was refreshed automatically
Some job platforms allow employers to renew vacancies to keep them visible. The hiring process might not have changed at all.

3. The job requirements have changed
After reviewing applications, the hiring team may realize it needs a different level of experience, additional skills or someone in a specific location.

4. They're hiring more than one person
Two openings can have the same title but represent separate positions within the team.

🔜 So, should you apply again?

It depends on where you are in the process.

• Applied recently? Check your application status before submitting another one.

• The job description changed? Compare the requirements. If the updated position is a better match, consider following up or submitting a new application.

• Already interviewed? A short message to the recruiter asking about your status is more useful than sending another identical application.

• Received a rejection? Don't assume a repost means the decision has changed. Reapply if there's a meaningful reason your candidacy should be reconsidered.

The key takeaway: A reposted job doesn't confirm rejection, but it doesn't guarantee you're still being considered either.

Before taking action, check what's actually changed.
