💗 After an interview, take five minutes to write down what you learned while it’s still fresh.

Not just the questions they asked.

Save:

1. What you learned about the actual role
Responsibilities, priorities, team structure, expectations.

2. Anything that changed from the job description
Different scope, reporting line, location requirements, or responsibilities.

3. What they focused on most
That can tell you what the team really cares about in the hire.

4. Anything you still need clarified
Keep it ready for the next stage.

5. Your own reaction
What made you more interested? What gave you pause?

By interview three, details from interview one can blur together.

A few notes make it much easier to evaluate the opportunity as carefully as the company is evaluating you.

💗 Before applying to a Web3 role, spend a few minutes understanding the product behind the title.

A quick way to do it:

1. Who uses it?
Consumers, traders, developers, institutions, merchants, protocols?

2. What are they trying to do?
Trade, pay, custody assets, build apps, analyze data, borrow, swap?

3. What can go wrong?
That often reveals the operational, support, security, and compliance work around the product.

4. Which other teams does the role depend on?
A job rarely operates in isolation.

Two companies can hire for the same title while the actual day-to-day work looks very different.

The product gives you the context the title often can’t.

💗 How does a task turn into a real function inside a growing company?

Usually, it happens in stages.

1. The same problem keeps coming back
What looked like a one-off task starts happening every week.

2. Someone becomes the unofficial owner
People know who to message when that problem appears, even if it isn’t officially part of their role.

3. Volume starts exposing the gaps
Memory, DMs, spreadsheets or manual work stop being enough.

4. The company creates structure around it
Ownership becomes clearer. Processes get documented. Tools and metrics appear.

5. Eventually, the work may justify dedicated headcount
At that point, the company isn’t just solving individual tasks anymore. It’s managing an ongoing function.

This is useful to notice even if you’re not actively job hunting.

If you keep becoming the person who owns the same category of work, builds the process around it and helps other people do it consistently, you may already be developing experience in a function before your title reflects it.

💗 Working in support can build a much broader skill set than answering tickets.

If you’re considering support roles in Web3, pay attention to the work happening around the conversations too.

Strong support work can involve:

» Troubleshooting
Finding the actual cause of a problem instead of only responding to the symptom.

» Pattern recognition
Noticing when the same issue keeps appearing across different users.

» Documentation
Turning repeated questions into guides, FAQs, or clearer internal processes.

» Escalation judgment
Knowing what you can solve yourself, what needs engineering or product, and what requires urgent attention.

» Product feedback
Explaining recurring friction clearly enough that another team can understand and act on it.

» User education
Helping someone understand the product well enough to avoid the same problem next time.

That’s why support experience can become relevant to paths like customer success, operations, product operations, implementation, community and even product itself.

The ticket is only the visible part of the job.

The skills you build around it can travel much further.
