TRM Labs achieves unicorn status

TRM Labs, a company specializing in crypto investigations, has reached a valuation of $1 billion after raising $70 million in Series C funding.

Investors in this round include Blockchain Capital, CMT Digital, Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, DRW Venture Capital, Y Combinator, and others.
The crypto market rebounded quite strongly today after nearly two weeks of heavy pressure.

Spot Bitcoin ETF recorded a net inflow of $380 million yesterday — the first positive after 9 consecutive days of outflows.

The market is still very sensitive. Next week there is US CPI data (Feb 19) which could be a major catalyst.
Vitalik vs Aliens

Vitalik Buterin placed a $148,000 bet on Polymarket that the US will NOT officially confirm the existence of aliens before 2027.

This comes right after Donald Trump promised to declassify UFO-related files — which instantly pushed Polymarket odds from 12% to 28%.

Vitalik’s track record:

2024: $52k bet → +$1.5k
2025: $25k bet → +$2.7k
2026: $148k on “NO” → potential +$16k

You can invent Ethereum, but Trump can still move the market with one sentence.
Arizona advances Digital Asset Strategic Reserve Bill

Arizona’s Senate Finance Committee approved bill SB1649 (4–2), which proposes the creation of a Digital Assets Strategic Reserve Fund. The legislation explicitly includes XRP among the digital assets eligible to be held in the state reserve.

The bill would authorize the state treasurer to hold, invest, and provide custody for digital assets, including those seized or surrendered to the state. It also allows the use of regulated ETFs and advanced custody solutions.

The proposal must still pass additional legislative stages, but its progress has already strengthened XRP’s position at the institutional level.

📈 Could Bitcoin reach $500,000?

A popular chart circulating on X suggests that Bitcoin is currently testing a multi-year trendline that has historically marked major market bottoms on the monthly timeframe. 📊

🔎 According to this analysis, BTC approaching this long-term support could indicate that the market is close to forming a macro bottom — potentially setting the stage for a massive long-term move, with some projections pointing as high as $500K.

However, the key nuance is the timeframe. On the monthly chart, Bitcoin could still close March around $60K and the long-term trend would remain intact.

In other words, short-term volatility doesn’t necessarily break the broader structure. The bigger picture suggests that as long as BTC holds this multi-year trendline, the long-term bullish scenario remains possible.
Crypto VC funding hits a 6-year low

Venture capital investment in crypto projects dropped to $2.2B in Q1 2026, marking the lowest level in six years.

Most of the funding went to crypto financial services (24%) and DeFi projects (27%), showing investors are still focusing on core infrastructure and financial use cases.

However, seed-stage funding fell sharply to just $166M, roughly the same level seen back in 2020.

The data suggests venture investors are becoming far more cautious, with fewer early-stage bets and a stronger focus on more established sectors of the crypto ecosystem.
📉Markets under pressure again

Global markets turned volatile:

• Oil spikes to ~$116
• Gold, silver and Bitcoin sell off

What’s driving it?

▪️ Rising geopolitical tensions — Iran claims an attack on a major gas field and threatens strikes on oil infrastructure
▪️ US inflation surprise — PPI jumped to 3.4% (vs 2.9% expected)
▪️ Federal Reserve holds rates steady

Higher inflation + geopolitical risk = uncertainty across all assets.

For now, energy is pumping while risk assets take a hit — classic “risk-off” behavior in the market.

Analysts at CryptoQuant expect a potential return of the bullish trend in the near term

Current market conditions are gradually shifting toward growth, even though overall investor sentiment remains cautious.

One key signal is the recovery in altcoin trading volume, suggesting renewed market interest. At the same time, the Bull Score Index is starting to turn upward — if this trend continues, it could confirm strengthening momentum in Bitcoin and support a broader market recovery.

Overall, data points to early signs of a trend reversal, but confirmation will depend on sustained growth in key metrics.

Bolivia is turning unused gas power into Bitcoin mining

🛠 The country launched a BTC mining operation powered by an idle 127 MW gas plant. Right now the farm uses around 27 MW and generates roughly 1.23 EH/s.

For Bolivia, this is more than just crypto hype.

The country has been facing a currency crisis, and after lifting restrictions on cryptocurrencies, virtual asset activity reportedly surged.

Now the government is moving on multiple fronts:

▸ monetizing excess energy through Bitcoin mining
▸ preparing a state-backed digital currency called the “virtual boliviano”
▸ increasingly using stablecoins as a substitute for scarce US dollars

The central bank says the digital currency project will officially launch on August 6 during Bolivia’s 200th Independence Day anniversary.

Interesting shift: A few years ago Bolivia restricted crypto purchases through banks.

Now the country is mining Bitcoin, experimenting with digital currency infrastructure, and using stablecoins to survive dollar shortages
