Tether Takes Stake In Whop, Integrates WDK For Stablecoin Payouts

Tether Investments has acquired a strategic stake in Whop, a digital marketplace facilitating ~$3B in annual payouts to 18.4M users across 144 countries.

As part of the deal, Whop will integrate Tether’s Wallet Development Kit (WDK) to support stablecoin settlements, enabling creator payouts in Tether (USDT) and USAT. The funding will back Whop’s expansion into LATAM, Europe, and APAC, alongside AI tools focused on agent-driven income models.

ℹ️ The integration aims to streamline cross-border payments by reducing settlement friction and costs, particularly in underbanked regions. Tether added that WDK could also unlock DeFi features on Whop, including lending and borrowing.

The move comes as Tether retains a dominant stablecoin market position, with USDT representing about 62% of total dollar-denominated supply, while continuing to expand across payments and tokenized asset infrastructure.

UK FCA Selects Firms for Stablecoin Sandbox. Revolut Among Participants

The Financial Conduct Authority has picked four companies, Revolut, Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, and VVTX, to test fiat-pegged stablecoins in its Regulatory Sandbox. The FCA says the sandbox will allow live testing of its proposed stablecoin rules while ensuring safeguards and fostering responsible innovation.

ℹ️ The move aligns with the Bank of England’s plans to develop stablecoins for faster, cheaper payments. Both regulators are shaping a comprehensive crypto framework covering stablecoins, trading, lending, staking, and custody, with rules expected later this year.

t54 Labs Raises $5M Seed to Build Trust Layer for AI Agent Finance

San Francisco-based t54 Labs has raised $5 million in a seed round to develop infrastructure for autonomous AI agents in financial markets. The round was co-led by Anagram, PL Capital, and Franklin Templeton, with participation from Ripple, Virtuals Ventures, Blockchain Coinvestors, and ABCDE.

ℹ️ Founded in January 2025, t54 is building identity, risk, credit, and compliance infrastructure for AI agents capable of initiating payments and executing transactions autonomously. Its platform integrates “know your agent” identity verification, real-time risk monitoring that flags suspicious activity before funds move, agent-based credit scoring, and unified settlement rails.

Blockchain functions as the platform’s settlement and accountability layer. t54 is live on XRP Ledger, Solana, and Base. The company has also developed x402-secure, an open-source trust layer designed for Coinbase’s x402 agent payment protocol.

⏮️ Last month, t54 partnered with Evernorth, a Ripple-backed digital asset treasury firm aiming to raise over $1 billion for institutional XRP exposure, to integrate its agentic finance infrastructure into autonomous treasury operations on XRPL.

The company currently employs 12 people and plans to hire additional engineers and business development staff as institutional adoption of AI-driven financial agents accelerates.

ZachXBT Accuses Axiom Employees of Abusing Internal Data

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has released a detailed investigation alleging insider trading and internal data abuse at Axiom Exchange, a fast-growing crypto trading platform.

ℹ️ Allegations Overview
– ZachXBT alleges senior BD Broox Bauer (X:@WheresBroox) misused internal dashboard access since early 2025 to track private wallets and front-run trades
– In leaked recordings, he claims he could search any user by ref code, wallet, or UID, reviewing 10–20 wallets at a time to avoid detection
– April and August 2025 screenshots reportedly show private trader wallet data pulled from internal tools

1️⃣ Internal Data Access Issues
– The dashboard allegedly exposed full wallet lists, transaction history, linked accounts, and timestamps, unusually broad access for BD roles
– A shared Google Sheet mapped KOL wallets using this data; several KOLs reportedly confirmed the accuracy

2️⃣ Targeting Meme Coin Traders
– A trader known as “Marcell” was allegedly monitored for bundling large meme coin allocations before public promotion
– Private-wallet traders were seen as high-value targets due to limited public traceability

3️⃣ Wallet Mapping & Fund Flows

– Broox’s alleged primary wallet and connected addresses were identified and graphed
– Proving insider trades would require internal timing logs, which are not public
– Funds reportedly moved to multiple CEX deposit addresses

4️⃣ Additional Employees Mentioned
– Recordings reference moderator “Gowno” and BD “Ryan/Ryucio” as having access or possible involvement
– A February 2026 call allegedly discussed using access privileges to generate $200K in profit

5️⃣ Legal Implications
– ZachXBT says he was retained to independently investigate and has requested comment from Axiom
– Given the NYC connection, the case could fall under the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York

⏭️ The report claims weak monitoring and access controls, regardless of leadership awareness. These remain allegations from a third-party investigation. No charges have been filed
