What is Cabin Pressure and Why do we need to maintain it in Aeroplane ?

Earth's atmospheric pressure varies with altitude. At the Earth's surface(sea level) , It is measured at 14.7 pounds per square inch(P.S.I) - which human beings are accustomed to because it provides the optimum amount of Oxygen.
As Aeroplane ascends to higher altitudes, the atmospheric pressure decreases. There isn't oxygen to breathe and humans cannot survive more than a minute at such altitudes. In order to prevent this from happening , Cabin Pressure is maintained at appropriate levels.

What causes skin to wrinkle with age?

The skin is made up of three layers:
The outermost layer which everyone can see, called the Epidermis.
The middle layer, called the Dermis.
The innermost layer, called the Subcutaneous layer.

When we're young, we don't have wrinkles because the Skin does a great job of stretching and holding in moisture. The dermis has an elastic quality thanks to fibers called Elastin that keep the skin looking and feeling young. A protein in the dermis called Collagen also plays a part in preventing wrinkles.
But over time, the dermis loses both collagen and elastin, so skin gets thinner and has trouble getting enough moisture to the epidermis. The fat in the subcutaneous layer that gives skin a plump appearance also begins to disappear, the epidermis starts to Sag, and wrinkles form.

How is food cooked in a Microwave?

Cooking with Microwaves. Microwaves are produced inside the oven by an electron tube called a magnetron. The microwaves are reflected within the metal interior of the oven where they are absorbed by food. Microwaves cause water molecules in food to vibrate, producing heat that cooks the food.

What is Bulletproof Jacket made of?

Bulletproof vests are modern light armor specifically designed to protect the wearer's vital organs from injury caused by firearm projectiles. To many protective armor manufacturers and wearers, the term "Bulletproof Vest" is a misnomer. Because the wearer is not totally safe from the impact of a bullet, the preferred term for the article is "Bullet Resistant Vest."
A Bulletproof vest consists of a panel, a vest-shaped sheet of advanced plastics polymers that is composed of many layers of either Kevlar, Spectra Shield, or, in other countries, Twaron (similar to Kevlar) or Bynema (similar to Spectra). Such vests can also provide protection in car accidents or from stabbing.

What is Silica Gel?  What is Silica used for?

Little packets of silica gel are found in all sorts of products because silica gel is a desiccant -- it adsorbs and holds water vapor. In leather products and foods like pepperoni, the lack of moisture can limit the growth of mold and reduce spoilage. In electronics it prevents condensation, which might damage the electronics. If a bottle of vitamins contained any moisture vapor and were cooled rapidly, the condensing moisture would ruin the pills. You will find little silica gel packets in anything that would be affected by excess moisture or condensation.
Silica gel is nearly harmless, which is why you find it in food products. Silica, or silicon dioxide (SiO2), is the same material found in quartz. The gel form contains millions of tiny pores that can adsorb and hold moisture. Silica gel is essentially porous sand.

What is a Rain Shadow and how does it form?

A Rain Shadow is a patch of land that has been forced to become a desert because mountain ranges blocked all plant-growing, rainy weather. On one side of the mountain, wet weather systems drop rain and snow. On the other side of the mountain—the rain shadow side—all that precipitation is blocked.

Why Do Earthquakes Happen?

Earthquakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake. When two blocks of rock or two plates are rubbing against each other, they stick a little. They don't just slide smoothly; the rocks catch on each other. The rocks are still pushing against each other, but not moving. After a while, the rocks break because of all the pressure that's built up. When the rocks break, the earthquake occurs. During the earthquake and afterward, the plates or blocks of rock start moving, and they continue to move until they get stuck again. The spot underground where the rock breaks is called the focus of the earthquake. The place right above the focus (on top of the ground) is called the Epicenter of the earthquake.

My Mom is My Hero

My mom is pretty darn special. And I'd be kidding myself to say that I tell her enough how much I appreciate her. There aren't enough breaths in the day to thank her for all that she has done for me. She is damn funny and makes me laugh so hard that I often cry.

She is also a master of guilt trips. once she showed me a photo of herself waiting by a phone that never rings. “Mom, I call all the time,” I said. “If you had an answering machine, you’d know.” Soon after, my Dad installed one for her. When I called the next time, I got her machine: “If you are a salesperson, press one. If you’re a friend, press two. If you’re my daughter Donya who never calls, press 911 because the shock will probably give me a heart attack!" :))

I can talk to her about anything:
I know for a fact that no matter the issue and no matter the story, my Mom will listen to the entire thing with nothing but compassion in her heart. I don't ever need to wonder if she will judge me bc I know for a fact that she never will.

She has such a compassionate heart for others that I am constantly blown away by her devotion for serving those around her. If I (or anyone else) needs anything, my mom is the first one to jump up, drop everything & run to help. If I have half as much generosity as my mom someday, I know that I would be making a huge difference.

I know that no matter how old I grow to be, and how mature I may become, my Mom will always be there for me. She will always be waiting with open arms to either congratulate me or console me. I have never felt more loved by any other human than I do by my Mom, bc She loves me unconditionally.

I will never ever need to worry that she will stop loving me. No matter the circumstances, no matter the phase of life that I'm in, my Mom will always be there for me, loving me every step of the way.

I don't think I will ever meet another person more dedicated to my success and ready to celebrate my accomplishments than my mom. She is hands-down my biggest supporter and will always be standing at the finish line of whatever race I may be running. I could be crawling across that finish line and she'd still be cheering for me the whole way.

I can always count on her to point me in the right direction:
My mom will pray for me. She'll encourage me. She will lead by example and through the counseling that she is always ready to provide. I know that I can always count on her to push me in the direction of my dreams.

She has the best laugh:
I could pick my mom's laugh out of a crowd of hundreds. Her ability to laugh at herself (and at her own cheesy jokes) are part of what makes her so amazing. But the sound of my mom's laugh has the capability to make anyone's day, including mine.

She is hilerious beyond words can describe: I remember Mom had a small decorative windmill in our yard. A storm broke one of the blades, causing the windmill to shake violently. Dad announced that he would “take care of it” and rebalanced the windmill by snapping off the opposing blade. Watching him, Mom remarked, “I hope I never break a leg.”:))

To my Mom: I love you forever ❤️

What is 4D Printing?

4-dimensional printing (4D printing; also known as 4D bioprinting, active origami, or shape-morphing systems) uses the same techniques of 3D printing through computer-programmed deposition of material in successive layers to create a three-dimensional object. However, 4D printing adds the dimension of transformation over time. It is therefore a type of programmable matter, wherein after the fabrication process, the printed product reacts with parameters within the environment (Humidity, Temperature, etc.) and changes its form accordingly. The ability to do so arises from the near infinite configurations at a micrometer resolution, creating solids with engineered molecular spatial distributions and thus allowing unprecedented multifunctional performance. 4D printing is a relatively new advance in biofabrication technology, rapidly emerging as a new paradigm in disciplines such as bioengineering, materials science, chemistry, and computer sciences.

Who took the world's first photograph?

The world’s first photograph or at least oldest surviving photo was taken by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826 or 1827. Captured using a technique known as heliography, the shot was taken from an upstairs window at Niépce’s estate in Burgundy. As heliography produces one-of-a-kind images, there are no duplicates of the piece, which is now part of the permanent collection at the University of Texas-Austin.
