Why does a Cow chew with its lower jaw making a sideways motion?

The plants eaten by cows are mainly made of cellulose. Cellulose is an incredibly tough material. In order to extract any nutrients from the cellulose, it needs to be broken down as much as possible.
The sideways motion of a cow’s chewing grinds the cellulose up to the point that it becomes digestible. It’s not easy, though; cows have to chew it twice.
The once chewed food is brought back to the mouth to be chewed a second time. This is called, chewing the cud.
After the food has been chewed a second time, it’s broken up enough to digest.
That is why cows chew with a sideways motion.

What animal has four stomachs?

Ruminating mammals include cattle, goats, sheep, giraffes, bison, moose, elk, yaks, water buffalo, deer, camels, alpacas, llamas, and antelope. Ruminants differ from non-ruminants (called monogastrics) because they have a four-chambered stomach.

How long does it take for your body to digest a piece of gum?

You might have heard that swallowed gum stays in your stomach for 7 years. That's not true. Though your stomach can't break down a piece of gum the same way it breaks down other food, your digestive system can move it along through normal intestinal activity.

🦁Lion and His Fear

There was a lion who feared nothing except the crowing of cocks. A chill would go down his spine whenever he heard a cock crowing. One day he confessed his fear to the elephant, who was greatly amused.

“How can the crowing of a cock hurt you?” he asked the lion. “Think about it!”

Just then a mosquito began circling the elephant’s head, frightening him out of his wits. “If it gets into my ear I’m doomed!” he shrieked, flailing at the insect with his trunk. Now it was the lion’s turn to feel amused.

Moral: If we could see our fears as others see them we would realize that most of our fears make no sense!
