This Indian side looks very inexperienced side against the English team. Captain Gill played just 3 test matches here on the English soil, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel, Abhimanyu, Jaiswal, Nair will be playing 1st time there. KL, Rishabh and Jadeja remains the players with a helpy experience. KL will have more responsibilities as a batter because he is the only player who has played on these surfaces. If this inexperienced batting lineup chokes, the pressure will automatically ger dropped on the bowlers. Arshdeep must play there ahead of Krishna. We need a lefty pacer and the swing he provides also would help us.

I am not expecting absolute great performance from Jaiswal in this series, although he done well in Australia but here, the conditions are totally different. In Australia, the older ball gets, that amount of help gets reduced for bowlers. But here, ball gets unreal swing at start and crazy reverse swing after it gets old. The ball could get a good swing even after 50-60 overs. Jaiswal is a player who hits the ball with power, not a player who plays with technique and class. In this situation, KL & Sai will have a huge role there. With that, I am expecting Gill to play at 4. This no. 4 was never a problem for India as Sachin & Virat were there in the last 20 years. I wish Shubman to carry their legacy now. Time to forgot about past, think about future. [1]

In my opinion, fitness standards in Indian cricket have dropped massively over the years.

There was a time when Ishant Sharma used to bowl 7–8 overs in one go, long consistent spells with intensity; and that too over multiple days. But now, we see bowlers struggling to complete even 5-over bursts.

Take Bumrah for example; if he’s not fit enough to play an entire series, then why isn't there a focus on improving fitness, especially when he's playing the entire IPL season without issues?

I get it; his action is tough on the body. But I’m not questioning the injury-prone nature, I’m questioning the overall fitness standards. This wasn't the case a decade ago. It needs attention.
