As this channel has grown over time and gained more visibility, it has unfortunately experienced an increased presence of scammers and predators targeting it.

Here are some tips for protecting yourself:

- As explained in the rules & guidelines, use the /report command in reply to any suspicious or rule breaking comments on the channel. This will alert the moderator team.

- Do not click on any links advertising cryptocurrencies or NFTs and please immediately report them.

- The CPTSD memes channel will not and cannot DM/PM you directly. If you receive a private message from a user named "CPTSD memes" and with the channel's profile picture, it's a scammer impersonating the channel. Immediately block and report it as spam.

- We've been targeted by fake therapists trying to lure people into fraudulent paid coaching/therapy sessions, often (but not always) using descriptions such as "quantum recovery", "reiki", and "energy healer". They are manipulative scammers preying on desperate & vulnerable people. Block and report them on sight. For a real & qualified therapist, get a referral from your doctor.

- While most people are decent, the unfortunate reality is that places like this attract some predators, who may pose as trauma victims in the comments. Be extremely careful interacting with people via DMs/PMs and watch for red flags. Always prioritize your own well-being.

- Never give anyone you meet on Telegram any money. Charity scams are very common. For example some people falsely claim that they need donations to escape abusive parents, or to afford gender affirming surgery. Scammers prey on your compassion.
