Artificial intelligence cannot own a work of art: U.S. Copyright Office.

In an important ruling, the U.S. Copyright Office rejected a request to grant an artificial intelligence (AI) system called the "Creativity Machine" copyright to a work of art that it created.
Creativity Machine's work is called "Recent Entry into Paradise".

Now a three-person board at the U.S. Copyright Office has found that the image of Thaler created by artificial intelligence does not include an element of "human authorship."
The decision calls the "connection between the human mind and creative expression" a vital element of copyright.

Review: Therabody Smart Goggles

This wearable heats up, vibrates, and soothes sore eyes and temples. I don’t want to take it off.

THE MODERN WORLD has ruined my brain. I'm in constant need of stimulation, watching TV and scrolling TikTok at the same time, or playing Tetris while mentally adding all of Jenna Ortega's outfits in Wednesday to my cart. I know. I need help.
I'm not quite the adult equivalent of an iPad kid. At least, I can still put my phone away while in the presence of other people.

But couple my phone addiction with a job spent writing on a computer screen, and my skull and eyes have started to revolt. I'm plagued by eye fatigue and pounding headaches, the latter of which may or may not be a result of the aforementioned habits. Sometimes the headaches are throbbing, hitting me like a bolt of lightning.

For added measure, occasionally my vision blurs for 20 or so minutes before the pain strikes. (These ocular migraines started before I owned a smartphone, for what it's worth).
HOW THE METAVERSE WILL POWER THE NEXT INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION?

The industrial metaverse is the next step in the evolution of virtual reality, and it has the potential to revolutionize how we interact with our physical world. It combines augmented reality with a shared online environment that can be used for business and industry applications.

More importantly, its focus on productivity rather than entertainment will allow us to explore entirely new ways of working together as well as creating innovative products or services.

While much of today’s attention is rightly focused on consumer-driven metaverses such as video games and social media platforms, the industrial metaverse promises to far exceed these offerings in terms of functionality and economic value. With its ability to drive efficiency while enabling creativity at scale, it has the potential to become one of the most important backbones of our economies in years to come.
IT technologies have reformatted the event industry over the past 10 years. How has the market changed at different stages, and what awaits us next?

If we compare the average event in 2007 and 2017, it is obvious that everything has changed: planning, preparation, conduct, evaluation of results. And, of course, the user experience. Participants buy tickets online for events that are advised by recommendation services. Vote for changes in the program. On the spot, they register themselves through QR codes or iBeacons radio beacons, get to know each other through mobile devices and watch product presentations in virtual reality glasses.

According to an international study on the transformation of the event market in 2022, 81% of visitors want digital technologies to be used at events, and 68% of organizers call them an actual and long-term trend. But it wasn't always like that.
How to Buy Land & Real Estate in The Metaverse

Real estate costs a lot. Many of us have had to deal with that problematic aspect of life. But no, we are not referring to Paris, New York, or London. It turns out that some of the most valuable lands in the world are not even on Earth, and even worse, it is not even real. The Metaverse is here.

That is correct; investors currently pay millions for metaverse real estate land. Cryptocurrency enthusiasts, tech enthusiasts, and potential metaverse users are being enticed to acquire digital properties as the competition heats up.

But what exactly is the commotion about? Today, we’ll talk about the metaverse land rush and how you can get involved.

Users reacted with irony to the incident, saying that they even had to buy tokens with pornographic content in the hope of an exclusive collection of pictures. Magic Eden advised to update the cache in the browser to solve problems with displaying incorrect images. At the time of writing, the problem with incorrect NFT display on the marketplace has been solved.
Harley Davidson CEO says the brand ‘will be all-electric’ in the future

Harley-Davidson was one of the first major motorcycle manufacturers to add electric motorcycles to its lineup last decade. It should come as no surprise then that the company’s CEO Jochen Zeitz is already saying that the brand’s future will be 100% electric.
It won’t happen overnight but rather is likely to take decades for the bar-and-shield motorcycle company to go fully-electric.
That’s how Zeitz described the transition in a recent interview with Dezeen.
“At some point in time, Harley Davidson will be all-electric,” he explained. “But that’s a long-term transition that needs to happen. It’s not something you do overnight.”

With its design heritage spanning well over a century, Harley-Davidson is of course best known for its loud, large displacement internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered motorcycles. But the company’s past was also defined by constant evolution, Zeitz continued.
Here’s a look at some of the changes in technology we need to help us advance for a better 2030.

Batteries
Although batteries may not seem like such a prominent piece of technology that needs to be improved, we need to understand where their use can take us in the future. Batteries are the ones we need to improve, including the ones used in electric cars. Most have argued that electric vehicles are the future. As many governments worldwide begin to consider banning fuel cars, batteries will need to be improved to ensure electric cars cannot only keep up with the current cars but can do so in a more environmentally friendly manner.

3D printing
Although 3D printing is relatively new and breaks boundaries in industries such as medicine, there could be more scope for it. As we move into a greener way of living and think about sustainability and recycling, 3D printing could be the answer to recycling goods in and within the house.
Xiaomi Gets Patent Permission for Foot-Type Robot

Today, the Chinese designer and manufacturer of consumer electronics and related software company Xiaomi has officially announced that it has obtained patent permission for the new foot-type robot.

Recall that earlier this month; the Chinese tech giant unveiled the robot dog named “Iron Egg”, of which patent permission was granted in November this year.

The new Xiaomi foot-type robot is expected to feature a head and a torso body connected to the head; a plurality of leg components connected to the torso body; a sensor component in the torso body, the sensor component collecting user state information; and a control component arranged in the torso body, the control component being connected to the sensor component.
Google is implementing AR navigation for its maps app: "it was as if the maps drew my routes in the real world, even though no one else could see them."

Roll out
Google maps is finally getting the previously announced augmented reality update.
In May, Google announced plans to add an ar navigation feature to its maps app. Nine months later, the feature is now available to a select group of Google users, giving the world its first glimpse of the likely future of getting around.

Technical test
On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal published an article detailing the experience of reporter David Pierce in testing an early version of the ar maps feature.
In it, he notes how this feature added a layer of graphics on top of the "real world" viewed through the camera in his smartphone. These graphic images ranged from large arrows indicating the direction Pierce needed to go, to text that seemed to hover over the sidewalk, letting him know how many steps he needed to take before the next turn.
Augmented reality startup Magic Leap wants to merge the digital and the physical worlds.

In October, CEO Rony Abovitz first shared the idea of the "Magicverse," a series of digital layers that would exist in AR over the physical world.

On Saturday, the company elaborated on the concept with a blog post and new interview — and its vision of the future is one in which the line between the physical and digital realms blurs until it almost disappears.

Essentially, Magic Leap envisions a future in which any location — ranging from a room to a whole country — has not only a physical presence, but also a digital one that takes the form of various layers. One layer might focus on health and wellness, for example, and another on entertainment, and still another on mobility.
People would access these layers via technology including, but not limited to, Magic Leap's AR headset.
Healthcare has long been at the forefront of innovation. The integration of different technologies has helped transpose and shape healthcare as we know it today.

Technology such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that uses radio waves and magnetic field gradients to generate images of organs and anatomy. Without MRI technology, today, during a pandemic, it would be impossible to understand the full effects of the COVID-19 virus on the human body, especially the lungs.

Considering how paramount MRI technology is today exhibits a clear demonstration of how its integration has improved healthcare. Following on from its success, numerous technologies have been adopted by the medical sector to provide better insights and care.

Augmented Reality works by integrating digital information placed into the user’s environment in real-time. The technology adds graphics, effects, sound, touch feedback, and text to enhance the user experience.
RAW by Koenigsegg: A glimpse of a futuristic Hypercar

Swedish hypercar maker, Koenigsegg has revealed its new concept car. The RAW concept was designed by Finnish automotive designer Esa Mustonen as part of his graduation thesis under the supervision of Sasha Selipanov -Koenigsegg’s Head of Design.

Christian von Koenigsegg gave a green light to the design. And the result is a prototype of a lightweight entry-level hypercar of the future. RAW by Koenigsegg weighs just 700 kgs and runs on 700 HP. This gives it a 1:1 Power to Weight ratio, a Koenigsegg feature earlier also seen in its Agera model.

RAW incorporates a sleek design. The windshield wraps around the body smoothly, and the entry doors are hinged at the rear. When the doors open the roof of the car retracts too. Inside, the Raw has three-seat layout similar to that of the McLaren Speedtail. The carbon fibre occupant cell accommodates the driver at the center with passengers seated on either side of him.
