OPEN CALL FOR RECODING REMKO SCHA (deadline: May 14)

This autumn, LIMA media art and Nieuwe Instituut will present ‘REBOOT. Pioneering digital art’, an exhibition at Nieuwe Instituut. Remko Scha's Institute of Artificial Art Amsterdam (IAAA, 1990-present) is part of this exhibition.

Leading up to this exhibition, some of the iconic artworks will be explored and contextualised within a collaborative trajectory entitled Digital Care - this is an open process together with artists, producers, scholars, and the public, exploring what it means to present these works today and in the future. As part of Digital Care, some of works will function as examples to inspire novel reflections, or re-coding.

The Makers Meet & Eat is back!
Are you an art lover, culture vulture, maker, creative person or just interested in the recent developments in the field of (digital) art, culture and design? Join us on 24 June for the *Makers Meet & Eat* in the museum garden of Centraal Museum Utrecht to see inspiring presentations by Utrecht-based, Dutch and international makers.

During the Makers Meet & Eat, you meet different makers and artists who will talk about their work in the field of (digital) art, culture and design. Or you can present yourself at our “wild card” table. An afternoon for meeting people, sharing knowledge, tricks of the trade and a look behind the scenes. We close the day with music, food and drinks.

Join us June 15th for our third meetup about programming language TouchDesigner. How do professionals use this language for their interactive artpieces or live performances? Workshop: Working with shaders in TouchDesigner

It’s workshop time! July 1st, we will be joined by Darien Brito with a TouchDesigner workshop about shaders in TouchDesigner.

TouchDesigner is rapidly becoming the de facto software for audiovisual performances, installations, projection mapping, and interactivity in experimental, artistic, and commercial projects. In this workshop, we will focus on understanding the principles and patterns using shaders in TouchDesigner. We will explore the idea of pixels as containers for data, beyond just elements to draw things on the screen, and study practical applications that you can later integrate into your projects.

Autumn is coming! And so are our monthly community meetups. We start off with a collaboration with NL_CL on September 12th in our brand new office space.

During this meetup, we will get together to talk about live coding. Anyone is welcome to take the HDMI cable and present their work-in-progress, display the issues they’ve been running into, and show their solutions! We will end the night with an open-stage jam, where we will be experimenting with live coded music and visuals.

Everyone is welcome to join the conversation, no previous coding experience is necessary. Come and hang out!
