We have received confirmed information that early this morning, combat troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines attacked a unit of the New People's Army in Barangay Cabacao in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro. The NPA unit was able to withdraw from the site, although we are still ascertaining details of their condition.

The unit of the NPA was in the area observing the CPP's unilateral ceasefire declaration (December 31 and January 1), and took advantage of the opportunity to render medical and other services to the local communities, mostly Mangyan people, and mark with them the turn of the new year.

The attack of the AFP shattered the peace in the area. In addition to unleashing a heavy volume of gunfire, the AFP deployed helicopter gunships to strafe and fire rockets, in complete disregard for civilian communities in the vicinity, causing stress and traumatizing residents.

With all its strength, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns the US imperialist government under the fascist madman Donald Trump for carrying out the early morning bombing around the Venezuela's capital city of Caracas, and perpetrating the patently illegal abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and his wife Cilia Flores. A number of civilians have reported to have been killed in the attack. Simultaneous attacks were carried out by the US in the Venezuelan states of Miranda, La Guaira and Aragua.

This US armed assault is a brazen violation of Venezuela's sovereignty. It was carried out on the false pretext of waging a war against drug trafficking, in much the same way that the US carried out its invasion against Iraq almost exactly 30 years ago, on the false justification of searching for imaginary weapons of mass destruction.

The clear aim of the US is to overthrow the Maduro government which has distinguished itself for having upheld the Bolivarian revolution and militantly defended Venezuela's sovereignty. The US has long shamelessly declared its intention of effecting "regime change" in Venezuela.

For many years now, it has subjected the country to crippling economic sanctions, sabotage, diplomatic pressure, and open threats of military intervention. Having failed in the past to assassinate Maduro, or win a majority for the US-funded candidates in previous elections, the Trump government has now carried barefaced military intervention to abduct Maduro and remove him from power.

The US imperialists hope to break the will of the Venezuelan people and suppress Venezuela's assertion of national sovereignty. They plan to orchestrate and fund an "unheaval" to install a puppet regime, that will allow US corporations to grab the country's vast oil reserves (the world's biggest), and take away the resources that fund Venezuela's free medical system, free education and other social guarantees.

However, the military aggression and abduction of Maduro by the US imperialists is only certain to ignite the patriotic anger of the Venezuelan people and unite them in resistance against US imperialism. They are certain to gain the support people of various Latin American countries, who have had their share of US imperialist oppression.

The Party, the broad masses of the Filipino people and their revolutionary forces stand in militant solidarity with the people of Venezuela, who have long marched under the Bolivarian flag of anti-imperialist resistance.

The Party calls on all democracy- and freedom-loving Filipinos to stand by the side of the Venezuelan people and condemn the US armed assault in Caracas and abduction of Maduro. They must support the Venezuelan people in their assertion of their right to determine their own destiny, free from imperialist sanctions, blockades and military and pressure from the US and its cohorts.

The Filipino people must denounce the puppet Marcos regime for hosting US military bases, and allowing the US to station troops and US large-scale weapons in the country, turning the country into a target of US rivals. The Marcos government must be condemned for any actuation supportive of US intervention in Venezuela or other parts of the world.

The Party, furthermore, call on the Filipino people to join ranks with peoples across the world in denouncing US wars of intervention and threats of war in all parts of the world. Even now, the fascist madman Trump has declared that the US is ready to carry out armed intervention in Iran, purportedly in support of anti-government demonstrators. It also continues to build up its military and naval strength in the South China Sea, increasing the possibility of igniting an armed conflict with China.

The Party urges revolutionary forces around the world, national liberation movements, and progressive organizations around the world to rouse the peole in support of Venezuela's resistance to US armed aggression. The Party calls on the American people, in particular, to denounce the Trump government, and manifest their denunciation of US military intervention.

The Party and the Filipino people must strengthen and advance the national democratic struggle in the Philippines, as the most profound contribution to the worldwide fight against imperialism and fascism.#

People's outrage against corruption and abuses reflected in pro-NPA trends on social media

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) does not have the wherewithal to mount a massive social media campaign, as imagined by the NTF-Elcac in a recent statement. Unlike the NTF-Elcac, we do not, and cannot, set up troll farms, dozens of interlinked pages or engage in other expensive social media tactics to "orchestrate" and "synchronize" to make a solid dent on these platforms. That is more the NTF-Elcac's speed, than the CPP and NPA.

The NTF-Elcac should remember that, through their representation, the CPP and NPA have long been censored from Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. All our attempts to set up accounts, pages or groups on these platforms have been shot down at every turn.

Any content linking to the website of the Party <https://cpp.ph or https://philippinerevolution.nu> is automatically censored and prevented from being posted. Through the National Security Council and the National Telecommunications Commission, they even went to the extent of blocking the domain "cpp.ph" alongside other progressive websites in 2022, a move that was declared illegal and ordered rescinded by a recent court ruling.

Having said that, we indeed noticed over the past few weeks a conspicuous rise in comments and posts on Facebook that were in many ways agreeable to the CPP and the New People's Army. This happily coincided with the CPP anniversary as text, graphics and videos were posted marking the occasion. (1/2)

We noted that most of these comments that favored joining or supporting the CPP and NPA are largely expressions of anger and frustration against corruption under the Marcos regime and abuses by military and police personnel. These comments were posted by ordinary people, as shown by their profiles. They express disenchantment over the current rotten system and a wish for a revolution to change the situation in the country.

The apparent trend over the past weeks favoring the CPP and NPA is an outcry from people who are fed up with the flood control anomalies, the high-living of the ruling classes, the police and military abuses, the dispossession of people's livelihood, plunder of the nation's wealth, high prices, joblessness, onerous taxes and lack of public services. To dissuade the people from expressing their sentiments, the AFP today issued a blanket threat against anyone "inciting people to overthrow the government," which reveals their mortal fear of people rising up against them.

We urge the people to continue to creatively and safely use social media platforms to express their outrage against their oppressors and the oppressive system. More importantly, we call on the people to continue forming themselves into organizations to more effectively fight for their cause.

The NTF-Elcac dismisses and ignores the people's sentiments as "mere propaganda," as it defends the semicolonial and semifeudal system that continues to subject people to increasingly intolerable conditions. It reveals itself to be a Marcos tool to silence dissent and maintain his grip on power.

It is the people's sufferings under the corrupt and fascist Marcos regime that are rousing them to support or join the revolution. Indeed, Marcos has become the number one recruiter for the CPP and NPA. The longer that he stays in power, the more people are drawn to the calls to resist in all forms available to them, including fighting with arms, to defend their interests and attain their aspirations. Corruption, injustice, abuses drive Filipino youth to revolution

Over the past week or two, the US-Marcos regime has mounted a frenzied media and social media campaign to intimidate and threaten the Filipino youth, who, more and more are growing disenchanted amid deep and widespread social ills, and are being drawn to question the rotten ruling system and seek radical and revolutionary ways to end corruption, injustice and abuses by those in power.

This campaign to intimidate and threaten the Filipino youth is part of Marcos' arsenal of fascist tactics to maintain his grip on power and preserve the ruling system, by suppressing the youth's and people's aspirations for change.

This blatant assault against the youth is spearheaded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the NTF-Elcac, and their mercenary hacks behind the Marcos government's propaganda machinery. They have mobilized funds to activate and coordinate their social media troll army to drown out posts critical of the Marcos government in a deluge of spam comments, and throw their weight around to push their narrative in the press and public discourse.

The Marcos psyops campaign heightened after a student researcher from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 22-year old Jerlyn Rose Doydora, died on January 1 in Abra de Ilog, Mindoro Occidental, amid relentless aerial bombing and strafing by the AFP, following an armed encounter. Another youth, 24-year old Chantal Anicoche, was taken into custody by the fascist soldiers, and illegally detained for a week, before being surfaced amid public outcry. Three Mangyan children were reportedly killed in the aerial bombing which was carried out in the proximity of mountain communities.

These are just the latest of the grave abuses being committed by Marcos' armed forces in Mindoro and in other parts of the country. In its desperation to cover up their fascist crimes, the AFP imposed an information blackout on Abra de Ilog, using brazen state terrorism and martial law tactics. These include the use of the old Marcosian trick of bussing in civilians to stage "rallies," to obstruct, intimidate and suppress the efforts of various democratic organizations and human rights groups seeking to conduct an independent fact-finding investigation into the incidents. The fascist regime wants to make it appear that people approve of the military's control of their communities, or that they support the planned mining operations and "renewable energy" projects of big business operations that will drive them away from their land.

The death of Jerlyn and the illegal military incarceration of Chantal has put to spotlight how growing numbers of young intellectuals today have become disillusioned with the reactionary government's lies and deception, and critical of its policies. This has become particularly conspicuous over the past few months as thousands of young people walked out of their university campuses and joined street marches in outrage over cases of large-scale corruption. They have lent their voices to the Filipino peoples' clamor for justice. While Marcos, his fellow bureaucrat capitalists and their big bourgeois comprador accomplices amass hundreds billions of pesos from rigged government contracts, majority of the Filipino people toil day in and day out to survive increasingly intolerable social and economic conditions.

The burgeoning youth rebellion is bound to grow. Like many young people around the globe, the Filipino Gen-Zs are breaking out of their digital shells and establishing real world networks with their fellow youth, as well as with the broad masses of the people. Amid corruption, injustice and abuse of power, many young intellectuals are adopting a socially critical mindset and have become acutely aware of the gross social ills plaguing the country, of the iniquitous ownership and distribution of the country's resources, and the oppressive conditions suffered by the masses of toiling people under the minority ruling classes who hold economic and political power.

They are critically aware how workers wages are being kept low despite the rise in the cost of living, how millions are idled by the lack of jobs and forced to eke out a living as contractual, outsourced, gig or platform workers, how peasants suffer from landlessness, dispossession and militarization, how fisherfolk are deprived of their fishing grounds by big capitalist trawlers, how jeepney drivers are being dislocated by corporate takeover of their routes and franchises, and myriad other forms of injustices suffered by the oppressed classes. They youth themselves suffer from these conditions. Millions are denied their right to education. The small percentage who make it to universities suffer repression and face the bleak prospects of decent employment. Under the priorities of the Marcos fascist regime, the only certain prospect is to join the police, military or paramilitary force, to serve as spies, foot soldiers or cannon fodder against their fellow oppressed people.

Fueled by heightening imperialist hegemonism in all parts of the world, and US military intervention in the Philippines, rising numbers of young Filipinos are breaking free from the colonial mindset---imposed on every Filipino since childhood---and embrace patriotism in its stead. They are growing indignant over the imperialist US support for the genocide against Palestine and its military aggression against the sovereign state of Venezuela. They are enraged especially by barefaced US military intervention in the Philippines and armed provocations in Asia, dragging the country to the possibility of war which serves US strategic geopolitical, falsely portrayed as "defense of Philippine freedom."

They are finding themselves reconnected with the country's history as a colony and semicolony of foreign imperial powers, who plundered and condemned the country to a permanent state of economic backwardness and dependence. The Filipino people's aspiration for genuine national freedom and social justice burns steadily in their hearts. More and more young Filipinos are united with the broad masses in the fervent desire to change the course of the country's history, in the resistance to end the reign of corruption, abuse, injustice and foreign domination, and determination to usher in a new era of sovereignty, progress and modernity.

The Filipino people and youth have witnessed in past weeks how Marcos is using the whole range of state power to preserve the system of corruption and abuse, even amid the people's uproar. Some lower-tier thieves have been scapegoated and turned to sacrificial lambs, even as high-ranking bureaucrat capitalists continue to rake in in billions of pesos in kickbacks, pork barrel and other forms of corruption. Many young intellectuals have become keenly aware of the limits of their social and political power to change society. They seek to build solidarity with the millions of workers, peasants, the semi-proletariat in both cities and countryside, the fisherfolk, the indigenous people and other oppressed and exploited classes who comprise the majority of the people.

The Marcos fascist regime, especially its armed forces, holds the socially critical youth in complete contempt and a threat to their rule. They malign young intellectuals as "victims of ideological grooming," as if they are mindless sheep. To deflect blame for their crimes, they have gone to the extent of intimidating the parents of victims of state terrorism, coercing them to depict their own children as lacking the agency for independent and critical thought, or the ability to commit themselves to something greater than themselves--the people's cause for genuine freedom and democracy.

The Filipino people and their young intellectuals will have none of fascist intimidation and threats. History has shown that attempts to suppress the intellectuals have succeeded only in further stimulating their critical and inquisitive minds. There is bound to emerge a strong current of young students, teachers, academics, scientists and other intellectuals flowing to urban poor and rural communities to investigate, see for themselves the concrete problems of the people, and learn from the masses the crucial importance of getting organized and waging collective struggle as a way of fighting for their interests.

Not a few academics, researchers, journalists, students, scientists, even lower officials of the government agencies have visited units of the New People's Army to gain a deeper understanding of revolutionary views, and the reasons that compel ordinary people to wage armed revolution. Many continue to be drawn to the path of resistance not because of some scheme of "deception" and "manipulation," rather because the revolutionary ideas promoted by the CPP and NPA reflect the people's desire for national freedom and democracy. The people and the youth will embrace only those ideas that express their hopes and aspirations. Many from the current generation of young Filipinos see the revolution as the only path towards attaining the people's aspirations for a free and prosperous future, and have committed themselves to face all the hardship and sacrifices to march along this difficult road.

More and more people see Marcos, along with the AFP, the PNP, NTF-Elcac and other repressive agencies, as the epitome of government corruption, injustice, abuse and subservience to foreign powers. As in the past, it is the oppression and intolerable conditions under Marcos that rouse the people to join the NPA and wage revolution. Indeed by negative example, Marcos has virtually become the number one recruiter of the New People's Army.

We call on the Filipino youth to continue sharpening their scientific minds and reject attempts to stifle their critical thinking. Deepen your understanding of the country's history and the current concrete conditions of the broad masses of the people under semicolonial and semifeudal system. Study and learn from the masses, and determine for yourself, the profound necessity of waging the people's democratic revolution. (3/3)

On tirades against China, silence towards the US

The past few days saw an intense word war erupting between certain politicians and Philippine government officials and a Chinese embassy officer. This word war was ignited by Commodore Jay Tarriela, spokesperson of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for the West Philippine Sea, who made use of mock images that ridiculed Chinese leader Xi Jinping, provoking a strong reaction from Chinese officials.

Guo Wei, deputy spokesperson of the Chinese embassy in Manila, questioned whether Tarriela, a uniformed officer of the Philippine government, is allowed to attack a foreign leader, and whether this is representative of Philippine diplomatic policy. The Chinese official denounced Tarriela for political provocation and violation of China's political dignity, and, stepping on the bounds of diplomatic relations, demanded that he be meted disciplinary measures.

Senators led by Risa Hontiveros, pounced on the statements of China's official, denouncing Guo as "very undiplomatic" and a "bad guest." She initiated a resolution signed by 15 senators denouncing China, further heightening tensions. Proposals were also laid out in the Senate to declare the Chinese official as persona non grata which all the more exacerbated the situation.

1. Tarriela's inflammatory actions which sparked the war of words were made on January 14, right before the scheduled January 16 Philippine-China Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) on the South China Sea, a diplomatic forum in Xiamen, China, overshadowing the positive efforts at diplomacy to settle maritime disputes between the two countries. It also came a few weeks after cooperation between the the PCG and the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) in the rescue of a Filipino fisherman.

Like all his previous statement, Tarriela's actions were clearly calculated to provoke China. Like his counterparts in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Tarriela regards China with open antagonism, in complete disregard of diplomatic ties.

Tarriela is a mouthpiece of US policy. Endorsed by the US embassy, he underwent a training program in the East-West Center in Washington in 2021. Shortly thereafter, in early 2023, he was assigned to serve as spokesperson of the PCG on West Philippine Sea concerns, with the task of portraying China as an aggressor in the South China Sea, and divert attention away from US build-up of military presence in the South China Sea. He works in close collaboration with US psywar agent Raymond Powell, who established the SeaLight Foundation on the same year. (1/3)

It is highly hypocritical for the Senate, especially Amboy Senator Hontiveros—who is seeking to curry favor with the US to advance her 2028 ambitions—as well as some rabid American stooges in the House of Representatives, to act like guardians of Philippine sovereignty against foreign interference. Just last January 15, the Senate ratified the Philippine-Japan Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA), following its ratification of the Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) in 2024. Both these agreements are brazen violations of Philippine sovereignty, giving the Japanese military greater access to Philippine ports, allowing the country to be used in the US "first island strategy" to contain China.

Unlike their tirades against China, not once has the Senate or its senators spoken in unison against the expansion of US military bases in the Philippines under the EDCA; not against the secret US facilities in Palawan, Ilocos, Aurora and elsewhere; not against the deployment of US long-range missile systems in undisclosed locations; not against US naval warships sailing across the Philippines territorial waters through island straits; not against the presence of giant US carriers strike groups mooring in the country's EEZ; not against continuing US war preparations and deployments in the guise of Balikatan exercises; not against announced plans of the US government to "sell" Philippine EDCA sites to Taiwan; not against the plans to establish a refuelling hub in the Davao Gulf to serve US naval warships; nor against plans to establish an ammunitions factory in Subic that form part of US plans use the country as base for its war operations in Asia.

While American stooges are spewing vitriol against China, the US military silently established and deployed a new unit in the Philippines, the Army Rotational Force-Philippines under its Task Force Philippines, that aims to "expand American military footprint" in the country. At the same time, its naval forces are set to conduct maneuvers and other military activities, along with so-called "like-minded" military forces, within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone. 3. The escalation of anti-Chinese tirades by Philippine officials and politicians coincides with a period of growing international isolation for US imperialism. Its so-called "rules-based order" is now thoroughly exposed as empty rhetoric. This comes after its military aggression in Venezuela and abduction of its president Nicolas Maduro.

This was followed by declarations of taking over Greenland, threats against Mexico, Colombia, Panama, increased aggression against Cuba, and subversive activities in Iran accompanied by threats of an invasion, have roused global indignation, including among its traditional allies. Trump's unilateral pronouncements and incessant bullying have isolated the US even from its allies in Europe and North America, who, ironically, have responded by strengthening their ties with China.

The US government under the fascist madman Trump is rushing to seize control of key sources of raw materials around the world. To free itself of any impediment, the US government is undermining the United Nations through committee withdrawals and funding denial. It is securing its interests in the Gaza Strip by establishing the so-called Board of Peace. In the US, there are rising protests by the American people against the US government's fascist clampdown against migrants.

The escalation of propaganda attacks against China by American stooges in the Philippines, invoking defense of Philippine sovereignty, have the effect of deflecting the Filipino people's attention from mounting global outrage against US imperialism. By depicting China as a threat to Philippine sovereignty, they hope to perpetuate the false American narrative that US military presence is needed to protect the country.

In fact, it is the growing threat of full-scale US military aggression in Asia, in collaboration with junior imperialist partners Japan and Australia, that the Philippines need to protect itself from. The Filipino people must stand firm for national sovereignty and demand that the country be free from the presence of all foreign military troops. With the US expansion of its military presence in the country, the greater the likelihood that the Philippines will be dragged into a devastating war that will serve only US hegemonic interests. Maximum outrage against US imperialism and Zionist Israel for brutal attack against Iran

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) expresses maximum outrage against the imperialist US government of fascist madman Donald Trump and the Zionist state of Israel of equally fascist Benjamin Netanyahu in carrying out on February 28 massive missile attacks against Iran.

The brazen military assault was unprovoked and treacherously carried out amid nuclear negotiations. Along with all revolutionary forces in the Philippines, the Party expresses solidarity with the freedom-loving people of Iran in vehemently condemning the missile attacks which are a gross assault on Iran's sovereignty and against universally accepted international laws.

Massive strikes were carried out against Iran's seat of government which assassinated the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other key leaders of the government. Trump carried out the murder of Khamenei on the mistaken belief that this will force the Iranian people to accept US military, economic and political dictates and give up Iran's sovereignty. The killings, instead, are bound to further unite the Iranian people who have long resisted imperialist subjugation.

We hold Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu accountable for the great number of deaths caused by the massive strikes which were carried out on their orders. Initial reports indicate that the massive strikes resulted in the deaths of more than 200 people, including 148 people, mostly schoolgirls, after missiles struck their primary school in the coastal city of Minab. More are feared dead.

In the face of the US and Israeli military assault against its sovereignty, Iran has all the right to defend itself by carrying out counterstrikes against Israeli military facilities and US military bases and aircraft carriers, especially in the Middle East. The escalation of armed conflicts in the region is a direct result of US imperialist intervention and military hegemonism.

The joint military assault clearly aims to force the people of Iran to bow to US imperialist demands for them to give up their sovereignty, and their national control of oil and other mineral resources. Because Iran has asserted its national sovereignty and supported other forces who resist American imperialism, the US has long aimed to subdue the country in order to establish its unchallenged hegemony in the Middle East.

This is the latest act of military aggression by the US imperialists. Facing a prolonged economic crisis and heightening competition, the US monopoly capitalists are pushing to seize control of more sources of oil and critical minerals, as well as global spheres to dump their surplus commodities. It is within the same context that, less than two months ago, the US imperialists carried out an assault against Venezuela and abducted its leader Nicolas Maduro along with wife Cilia Flores, in an barefaced attempt to take control of the country's oil resources.

This was followed by Trump's orders for the US military forces to seize oil tankers from Venezuela, heightened economic sanctions and attempts to subvert Cuba, threats against Mexico, Colombia and other Latin American countries who oppose Trump's revival of the Monroe Doctrine, open declarations of seizing Greenland, undermining of the United Nations and other acts of unilateralism. All these expose the utter hypocrisy of the so-called "rules-based order." The US continues to connive with Israel to impose its hegemonic aims against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The US continues to set its crosshairs in Asia, with unabated attempts to incite Taiwan to declare independence, and using the Philippines to stockpile weapons, station American troops, and mount war exercises, all directed to heighten military tensions with China.

The Party calls on the Filipino people, including migrant workers in the Middle East, to stand with the people of Iran as they resist US military assaults, and fight to defend their sovereignty against attempts to subjugate them. We urge all patriotic and anti-imperialist forces to stand firm to oppose US military aggression around the world, and stop it from waging more wars in the name of American interests.

In the face of threats of being dragged into a US-instigated war, there is great urgency for the Filipino people to build a broad united front against US war provocations, and heighten their demand for the US and Philippine governments to dismantle all US military bases and facilities in the Philippines, remove US missiles and other weapons of war stockpiled in secret locations in the country, pull out all US troops in the country, and withdraw US naval presence in the West Philippine Sea and the South China Sea. They must amplify their demand to abrogate the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) and all lopsided military treaties with the US and push for an independent foreign policy.

They must build international solidarity with the people of South Korea and Japan where people are also demanding that they be liberated from American military presence, as well as with peoples around the world demanding an end to the US war machine.

There is great urgency for the working class and revolutionary proletariat across the world to unite and lead all democratic and anti-imperialist forces in fighting imperialism and its threats of war. They must lead the revolutionary struggles in all countries to wage revolutionary wars to fight for national liberation and socialism, as key in the struggle to end imperialist wars and attain genuine global peace.#

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joins broad democratic forces in Kenya and the international community in vehemently condemning the fascist police and military forces of the US-backed Ruto regime in Kenya for the abduction, torture, and illegal detention of Comrade Booker Ngesa Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party Marxist-Kenya (CPM-K).

On the evening of February 23, Comrade Omole was violently taken from his home in Isiolo town and detained at Mlolongo Police Station without any formal charges. He was tortured and beaten severely. He is being held incommunicado, denied access to his chosen lawyer, medical care, and visits from family and friends. The Mlolongo Police Station is notorious for extrajudicial killings and systematic terror against the Kenyan people.

This is not the first time Comrade Omole faced violent attacks by the fascist regime. In early 2025, he was target for assassination at his home. Other CPM-K leaders have faced similar assaults, such as the abduction of Party national chairperson Mwaivu Kaluka in Mombasa in 2025. These form part of a broader campaign of intimidation targeting the CPM-K’s leadership.

Such acts are blatant attempts to terrorize the CPM-K and undermine its efforts to organize and mobilize the Kenyan people in their fight for livelihood and sovereignty. Since the rise of the Ruto regime in 2022, attacks against CPM-K and the Kenyan people have escalated, particularly in response to widespread protests against the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Finance Bill, which sought to impose crippling tax hikes.

The CPP stands firmly with Comrade Omole and fully supports the CPM-K and the Kenyan people in demanding his immediate and unconditional release. We are confident that the CPM-K and the Kenyan people will not succumb to fear in the face of the Ruto regime's brutality.

We are in solidarity with the CPM-K in its bold declaration: "Organize. Speak out. Mobilize. Defend our comrades. Defend democratic rights. Defend the revolution. No prison can contain the will of the people. No baton can beat down the truth. No regime can stop the march of history. The struggle continues. The people shall win."

Condemn the arrest of NDFP peace consultant for Cordillera Gabriel Kennedy Bangibang and companions

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) strongly condemns the Marcos regime and its military and police forces for the unlawful arrest of National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) peace consultant for Cordillera Gabriel Kennedy Bangibang and nine others last March 11. They were forcibly taken in simultaneous raids in Tarlac City and Quezon City, and maliciously tagged as members Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee.

Joint military and police elements raided the place where Bangibang was staying in Barangay Baras-Baras, Tarlac City. Six others were also arrested. During the operation, the victims were physically and verbally assaulted—struck on the head, beaten on the face and stomach, and slammed to the ground. They now face fabricated charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives, in addition to trumped-up cases of murder, attempted murder, and qualified trafficking.

Bangibang served as an NDFP peace consultant during the 2016 negotiations with the Philippine government. He provided the NDFP Negotiating Panel with crucial insights into the situation of the Cordilleran and other national minority communities, helping ensure that their voices and interests were genuinely represented in the peace process.

Bangibang's arrest is a blatant violation of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG), which protects peace negotiators and personnel from reprisal. This brazen disregard for existing peace accords further aggravates efforts to revive talks that have remained stalled since the signing of the Oslo Joint Statement in November 2023. (1/2)

A proud son of the Taluktok tribe of Tanudan, Kalinga, Bangibang also served as an official of the Cordillera People's Democratic Front (CPDF). Having joined the CPDF in 1987, he has long dedicated himself to addressing the deeply rooted social and economic injustices faced by national minorities—issues central to the proposed Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-Economic Reforms (CASER).

The arrest and continued detention of Bangibang and his companions are clear acts of political persecution meant to punish him for his role in the peace process.

The CPP also joins human rights and democratic organizations in demanding the immediate surfacing of Jess Gamay and another companion who remain missing following their arrest in a separate raid in Fairview, Quezon City. Quezon City police officers claim the two were “released” after no charges were filed. They must be surfaced and safely reunited with their families without delay.

Bangibang and his companions now join the ranks of nearly 800 political prisoners unjustly jailed across the country. Their arrest once again exposes the duplicity of the Marcos regime, which peddles amnesty for “surrenderees” even as it continues to persecute individuals for their political beliefs and social commitments. The arrest came two days before the March 13 deadline for the "amnesty applications."

The CPP calls on all local and international human rights and humanitarian organizations, as well as peace advocates, to extend solidarity and assistance to Bangibang and his companions. We urge all democratic forces to unite in demanding their immediate and unconditional release. (2/2)

PRESS RELEASE: Marcos' sham amnesty program is an epic fail—CPP

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today said the two-year amnesty application of the Marcos government and its so-called National Amnesty Commission (NAC) is an epic failure, and nothing more but a hollow public spectacle. The NAC concluded its amnesty application period yesterday, March 13, claiming to have received thousands of applications from "former rebels and supporters" of the revolutionary movement.

“Marcos’ amnesty program failed to deceive the Party, the masses and their revolutionary forces,” said Marco L. Valbuena, the Party’s Chief Information Officer. He lambasted the NAC’s figures asserting that most of the supposed applicants were ordinary peasants and poor civilians deceived and coerced into surrendering and applying for amnesty.

Valbuena added that only a handful of “counterrevolutionary traitors,” who now serve as collaborators of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the National Task Force (NTF)-Elcac, took part in the program. "These renegade traitors are utterly despicable for accepting 'amnesty' from the fascists at the expense of betraying the national and democratic aspirations of the Filipino people and the memory of their martyrs," he added.

Since Marcos’ issuance of Proclamation No. 404 in November 2023, the CPP has consistently rejected what it calls a fake and self-serving amnesty scheme. “The revolutionary movement remains determined to advance the armed struggle to end imperialist domination, tyranny, corruption, and oppression under the Marcos regime,” Valbuena affirmed. He further noted that the government’s amnesty campaign, combined with its militarist approach, has failed to weaken the revolution’s resolve. “Genuine and lasting peace can only be achieved by addressing the roots of the armed conflict—widespread social injustice and the lack of genuine national sovereignty,” Valbuena stressed.

Valbuena also criticized the administration for turning the amnesty program into another source of corruption. The regime spent millions in public funds to establish so-called local amnesty boards. "In relation with this amnesty charade, hundreds of millions, if not a few billion pesos were allotted for unaudited "barangay development programs", lining the pockets of bureaucrats and military officers," he said.

“Marcos is mistaken in the belief that state terrorism can snuff out the people’s aspirations and kill their resistance,” Valbuena said. “Every day that military and police forces employ armed might, the more that people are roused to defend their rights and livelihood and driven to take up arms in resistance.”

He concluded that the amnesty program “ended up as nothing more than a useless piece of paper.” (2/2)

The Indian people and their revolutionary movement will emerge victorious against Operation Kagaar

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the New People's Army (NPA), and the entire revolutionary movement in the Philippines express unequivocal solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and the People's Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA). We stand with the people of India and their revolutionary forces as they frustrate "Operation Kagaar" and the Narendra Modi regime’s desperate war to crush the people’s war in India. As its end of March self-imposed deadline approaches, the regime has resorted to more brutal tactics of suppression. We join various international parties and forces in today’s March 28 International Call to Action, initiated by the International Committee to Support the People’s War in India (ICSPWI).

Since January 2024, the Indian state has waged Operation Kagaar (the "Final War") against its own people. Thousands of military, paramilitary, and mercenary forces have been deployed, primarily in Central India, to crush the people's resistance. By establishing hundreds of new military camps within forest and mountain communities, the state aimed to suppress the people’s struggle.

Operation Kagaar is a campaign of state terror against the people of India, against Adivasis, and organized forces who dare to oppose oppression. It specifically targets the leadership of the CPI (Maoist) while flagrantly violating international humanitarian law and the rules of war. These operations ignore the special protections guaranteed to vulnerable sectors in areas of armed conflict.

In just over two years, nearly 700 revolutionary leaders and Adivasi people have been killed in a series of massacres and summary executions. Thousands more have fallen victim to illegal arrests on trumped-up charges, abductions, and systemic harassment. The Modi regime has further intensified its coercive "surrender and reintegration" campaign, forcing civilians among the Adivasis to collaborate or face escalating military abuse. (1/2)
