On Thursday US Health Secretary RFK Jr. assured President Trump that by September the cause of autism would be known following a huge testing and research effort with hundreds of scientists from around the world.

Of course RFK and Trump both know what the outcome will be, as Trump openly speculates in this clip (including about "a shot"), but this is clearly a chance to take the unaware scientific community (and the unaware public) on a much needed journey to open their eyes to this serious issue.

There are so many issues coming to light, and the wait is excruciating for those who already know.

It's especially hard when controversial statements are made, like those made on X by RFK Jr recently telling people to take the MMR vaccine, or the rumors about potential blackmail.

Hopefully this latest news comes as some reassurance that the truth about autism is going to go stratospheric before the end of the year.

The BBC reported:

"We're going to look at vaccines, but we're going to look at everything," Kennedy later said during an interview with Fox News about the scope of the undertaking.

"Everything is on the table, our food system, our water, our air, different ways of parenting, all the kind of changes that may have triggered this epidemic."

In a statement the Autism Society of America called Kennedy's plan "harmful, misleading, and unrealistic".

"It is neither a chronic illness nor a contagion," the society said.

Christopher Banks, the society's president, questioned whether the research efforts would be transparent and said claims that autism is solely caused by environmental factors were "misleading theories (which) perpetuate harmful stigma, jeopardize public health, and distract from the critical needs of the autism community."

Kennedy has also alarmed some over his hiring of David Geier, who has been described by some as a conspiracy theorist, to research vaccines and autism, and on Thursday Democrats in the US House of Representatives wrote to HHS "to express our urgent concern" over the selection of "a biased and discredited individual".

Geier is a leading vaccine sceptic who was fined by the state of Maryland for practicing medicine without a medical degree or licence and prescribing dangerous treatments to autistic children."

Criminal referral requests for charges including murder and medical terrorism against Anthony Fauci, Deborah Birx and other top COVID officials have now been filed in seven US states.

Referrals were filed in Arizona and Pennsylvania, along with pre-existing referrals in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oklahoma.

The filings, which come from the Vires Law Group and the Former Feds Group Freedom Foundation, call on state attorneys general to pursue Anthony Fauci and other pandemic-era officials for a wide range of serious crimes. The charges include murder, negligent homicide, involuntary manslaughter, medical coercion and abuse, racketeering, operating a corrupt organization and terrorism.

Among the individuals being pursued are Anthony Fauci, former NIAID director; Deborah Birx, former White House COVID coordinator; Rachelle Walensky, former CDC director; Francis Collins, former NIH director; Peter Hotez, Baylor vaccine promoter; Robert Redfield, former CDC director; and Peter Daszak, EcoHealth Alliance president and collaborator with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

On his last day in office, President Biden issued a largely unprecedented pre-emptive pardon for Anthony Fauci in an attempt to shield him from prosecution by the incoming Trump administration.

In response, Fauci told the media he “truly appreciated” Biden for taking action, and the possibility of prosecution had created “immeasurable and intolerable distress” for his family.

“Let me be perfectly clear, I have committed no crime and there are no possible grounds for any allegation or threat of criminal investigation or prosecution of me,” he said.

In February, 17 state attorneys general made a formal request to Congress for funding to investigate the origins of COVID-19 and explore possible legal action against Fauci and others. Although President Biden’s pardon prevents federal prosecution, it does not prevent legal action at the state level, the attorneys general argue.

One of President Trump’s first actions was to revoke Anthony Fauci’s security clearance.

“You can’t have a security detail for the rest of your life because you work for government,” Trump told reporters.

The government has started consulting on draft new relationships and sexuality education (RSE) guidelines for schools.

Winston Peters called the previous non-compulsory guidelines, which were removed, "woke" and "out of touch".

They offered guidance for teaching different age groups about consensual relationships, online bullying, sexualities, gender identities, and pornography, but were scrapped last June under the National and New Zealand First coalition deal.

The Education Minister, National's Erica Stanford, said New Zealand First had no influence over the new framework and the government is seeking feedback from anyone who wants to provide it.

The coalition agreement required the government to "refocus the curriculum on academic achievement and not ideology, including the removal and replacement of the gender, sexuality, and relationship-based education guidelines".

The new draft framework - which will feed into the wider compulsory curriculum - shows few mentions of gender or gender identities, but Stanford said New Zealand First had no influence over it.

"The writing group that put this together were an expert writing group in the ministry. So what they have put to us has not been influenced by New Zealand First or by myself," she said.

"This is an independent group that sits within the ministry that have put this out for consultation, and now we will hear back from the sector about whether or not there are things that are missing, things that should be put back in, things that should be taken out, things that should be moved around. That's exactly what this [consultation] is for.
