Greenland elections - moving towards independence from Denmark.

Results of Greenland’s elections have put two pro-independence parties in the majority.

The American media is doing its best to ignore the biggest news this week.

As Alex Berenson notes, while every legacy media outlet is reminding you it’s been exactly five years since the Little Epidemic That Could started its long chug into your lungs, or at least your upper respiratory tract, two big German newspapers - Zeit and Süddeutsche Zeitung -broke some actual news.

Turns out, Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) has long had evidence that the Covid-19 virus originally came from a lab in Wuhan, China.

It was kept classified, however.

Jacinda Ardern is releasing her first children’s book, Mum’s Busy Work.

The book, which Ardern claims celebrates working mothers and their children, is supposedly inspired by conversations with her daughter, Neve, during her tenure as prime minister.

Ardern became prime minister in 2017 and had her daughter in 2018.

Despite her often-criticized leadership and abrupt resignation, she now appears to be repackaging her political image through the lens of motherhood.

“I hope every child knows they are our life’s greatest work,” Ardern stated.

Christchurch illustrator Ruby Jones, an admirer of Ardern, provided the book’s artwork and expressed excitement about working with her. Jones believes Mum’s Busy Work captures special family moments, though many New Zealanders may recall Ardern’s time in office as marked by divisive policies rather than warm parenting anecdotes.

The book is set for release on September 30 in New Zealand, Australia, the US, and the UK.

Meanwhile, Ardern, who now lives in Boston with her husband and daughter, continues to build her post-political career as a lecturer and public speaker.

UKRAINIAN TROOPS TRAPPED IN KURSK

This is Pres Trump’s message on Truth Social about the situation.

He and Pres Putin are reportedly in touch, probably via video link at the meeting presently being held between Trump’s envoy Steve Witkof and Putin at the Kremlin. Putin has called on the troops to surrender, however during a visit to the headquarters of the Kursk troops, he said that there will be “no mercy for the terrorists who invaded Russian territory”. The pressure on the Kharkov direction eased first, then they began to withdraw their troops from the eastern direction. I think that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction is now stable, and it will be very difficult for them to find an opportunity to occupy Pokrovsk again."

A new coronavirus, feared to be able to spread to humans, has been discovered by a China-linked scientist.

Researchers from Brazil and colleagues affiliated with the University of Hong Kong detected the new strain after swabbing the mouths and rectums of bats.

The novel strain is closely related to MERS - a disease that kills about 35 percent of the people it infects.

The makeup of the virus' spike protein, which it uses to trigger an infection, means it can probably infect human cells, the researchers warned.

Revealing the discovery in Brazil, lead researcher Dr Bruna Silverio, from the University of Sao Paulo, said: 'Right now, we aren't sure it can infect humans.

'But we detected parts of the virus' spike protein (which binds to mammalian cells) suggesting potential interaction with the receptor used by MERS-CoV.'

Europe's WAR MADNESS: Will the War In Ukraine Continue Without the USA?

If you have ten minutes to spare and care about the situation in Ukraine, here are some sensible thoughts from this self-reliant Norwegian.

He had hoped Trump would bring peace to Ukraine but now is concerned at recent developments suggesting that Europeans wish to continue the war without the USA. (The Danish PM recently said peace in Ukraine would be worse than war.)

Starmer and Macron have got Europe talking about becoming a military super power. The Norwegian says that the madness of war never left Europe and that he fears the C21 could be another century of war. (mb)

Trump has a song which he has often featured at rallies. Not YMCA or the one about being proud to be an American, but “Nessun Dorma”.

As we reach a decisive stage in Ukrainian peace negotiations, it’s a good time to review this song. It is played below with scenes from the 2024 Republican Convention juxtaposed with events from the film “Sum of all fears”.

Whether or not you believe Trump is sincere, it is good to be aware of what he is doing.
