The picture is by the Babylon Bee, but, as so often, it is actually pretty accurate. People like Adam Schiff are panicking about some of Trump’s picks for key positions, and KASH PATEL as head of the FBI, is a terrible threat to them. This morning, NZ time, confirmation hearings were taking place for Kash, for RFK Jr (day 2) and for Tulsi Gabbart. They are all threatening for those who have profited from an illegal system for so long.

Along with the criminals, there are also some extremely moral individuals on the examination board. Senator Blackburn is one of these, and she asked Kash if he would release the Epstein client list and work with her against child trafficking.

It’s almost as if a curtain opened and we saw “black hats” and “white hats” sitting together with the black hats panicking that empire they have long contolled is slipping away from them.

SENATOR BLACKBURN: Will you work with me on this issue so we know who worked with Jeffrey Epstein in building these sex-trafficking rings?

KASH PATEL: Absolutely, Senator. Sex trafficking has no place in the USA, and I will do everything, if confirmed as FBI Director, to make sure the American public knows the full weight of what happened in the past and how we are going to countermand missing children and exploited children going further.

Senator Adam Schiff is one of the blackest of the black hats. I often wondered if Trump nicknaming him “Pencil Neck” was a prophecy that he might one day be hung for crimes. This interaction between him and Kash shows his desperation. At one point he almost loses his decorum but recovers it with difficulty.

Senators are normally given five minutes each, but the very shrewd chairman, Chuck Grassley, let this roll on for eight minutes because, as he later put it to Senator John Kennedy, sometimes much is revealed by allowing things to extend a little longer. With a poker face, he also counteracts Schiff’s allegations about Kash disrespecting police officers by bringing letters of recommendation from thousands of FBI officers right after Schiff has finished. This is actually great drama unfolding before our eyes.

While the Kash Patel hearing was going on, hearings were taking place also for RFK Jr (day 2) and Tulsi Gabbart. Here RFK, after enduring so much in two days of testimony, fires back at Senator Sanders regarding the money that Senator Sanders and others have been paid by the Pharmaceuticsl Industry to do things such as block RFK’s appointment. Spectators enthusiastically respond.

At 8pm last night – timed, presumably, to avoid pick up on the morning news shows – Climate Change Minister Simon Watts released New Zealand’s 2035 Nationally Determined Contribution to combatting climate change under the Paris Agreement.

The target, which locks unavoidable agricultural emissions into New Zealand’s international targets, are even more ‘ambitious’ than the 2030 targets made when Jacinda Ardern/James Shaw flew to Glasgow. They will cost future taxpayers literally tens of billions of dollars in penalties.

Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director, Jordan Williams, said “Ardern’s 50% emissions reduction by 2030 target was ludicrous. Treasury estimates that in just five years taxpayers will be on the hook for up to $24 billion - that’s $12,000 per New Zealand household. The Government has now signed us up for another bill for five years later.”

“To not only lock this cost in, but go even harder for 2035 is economic sabotage. Watts and his Cabinet colleagues are not going to be around in a decade to have to pay the bill, but are doubling down on Paris at the very time our trading partners are pulling back.”

“Half of New Zealand’s emissions are agricultural. To achieve the 51-55% reduction Simon Watts has put NZ on the hook for would mean we either must shut down parts of our agricultural sector, or just about everything else. To say this is fantasy does Mickey Mouse a disservice.”

“The only way New Zealand avoids paying tens of billions in international carbon credits is if every square inch of Otago and Southland is planted in pine. But even the Government’s own experts advise that pathway is not credible.”

“So this decision will see New Zealanders having to stump up billions more to buy international credits in a decade’s time.”

“The Taxpayers’ Union has long supported sensible emissions reductions using our world leading Emissions Trading Scheme. But such a scheme can only operate with realistic targets and collective international action. Sacrificing our economic prosperity at the altar of good intentions when other countries are pulling back is nothing short of economic sabotage.”

“Minister Todd McClay was on radio this morning talking about how the Government want to ‘power up’ agricultural exports. He’s sure in for a shock.”

“Meanwhile, Simon Watts has just harpooned the Prime Minister’s ‘Going for Growth’ plan. Mr Luxon, Mr Peters, and Mr Seymour need to step in and overrule this decision.”

For those of you interested, I'll separate out my musings about the US as some find it irrelevant.

Personally, I find it very important as we are simply downstream from them politically, they still have freedom in their DNA and we are an extended part of the corporation that they will hopefully come out from under, not to mention, our Government has to work with them irrespective of who is in power.

ZIMBABWEANS are capable of spearheading game-changing first-of-a-kind innovations that challenge the world’s traditional ways of doing things, President Mnangagwa has said.

The President said this yesterday when Zimbabwean innovator and inventor Mr Maxwell Chikumbutso paid a courtesy call on him at State House in Harare to showcase his latest invention of the world’s first self-powering vehicles and motorbikes that run on radio waves.

Such inventions, said President Mnangagwa, were testament that Zimbabweans were skilled enough to usher leading inventions that defy logic.

“This is the only vehicle (of its kind) that exists in the world, there is no other. This is the only vehicle in the world and it is here in Zimbabwe.

“He (Mr Chikumbutso) is so gifted that you will not believe it . . . when he first came to talk to me, I thought he was not properly wired in his head, but I now know that he is well connected,” he said with a laugh.

President Mnangagwa said he was personally supporting Mr Chikumbutso in his endeavours.

Americans had initially offered the 44-year-old high school dropout millions of dollars to stay and continue his work in the United States, an offer he refused.

“They offered him US$3 million to stay there and I told him to let them have their US$3 million.

“Yes he never went far with school, but he is more educated than engineers with his Form 2.

“All this . . . from the time he began doing these things, I have been supporting him throughout,” President Mnangagwa said.
