ESTABLISHMENT PARTY UPDATE

As the PM meets & greets at Otara Market, Freedoms NZ supports were out in full force with signs and chants against the Labour Party & Blackrock, amongst others.

Interesting to note that the media are fueling the narrative of the campaign trail not being safe.

This started last year, as if they are itching for something to happen to an MP so the way campaigning takes place is forever changed.

Also it must be noted none of the protestor were in the piece saying what they were unhappy about.

Bryce Edwards reaffirming this is part of democracy, but the real question should be when will the politicians listen and when will the MSM give them a real voice?

The second part of this report demonstrates how woke National has become as they announce their list, with over 50% of their top 40 being women and ensuring minority races are represented towards the top, rather than creating a list based on merit.

What is the real, tangible difference between Labour & National these days?

People might like to know that the Uni Party (Labour & National combined) is polling at its lowest since the introduction of MMP, except for in the very early days.

NZ LOYAL OFFICIALLY REGISTERED!

It has been confirmed this morning that NZ LOYAL is now officially registered as a political party in New Zealand and will contest the 2023 General Elections.

Remember those who said it couldn't be done and it was too late? Credibility is important, and they have none!

Now, let's take our house back!

Loyal to you - Not to them

MINOR PARTY VOTE CONFUSION

People have been saying that if you vote for a minor party and it doesn't reach the 5% threshold or get an electorate candidate elected (both would result in political representation in parliament), then your vote is reallocated to the parties who do get representation.

We have checked this out on the Electoral Commission website and we spoke to them to double check and they assured us your vote is NOT reallocated.

All parties who don't reach the 5% party vote and don't get an electorate seat, simply have their votes disregarded, as opposed to gifted to another party.

What is taking place (very simply stated), is more accurately understood by discussing the 120 availabile seats in parliament that all the parties are in fact vying for.

The 120 seats are allocated based on party vote or electorate seat wins.

If these are not all filled after the initial total vote count, the vacant seats then get divided ("by a sequence of odd numbers" as in picture) amongst all the parties who did get in.

This means if you are thinking about voting for a minor party, you can be assured it will not be transferred, or reallocated.

It's not wasted if they don't reach the threshold, it just means they didn't reach the threshold due to lack of votes.

Therefore, the big & small winners simply get their percentage of the total 120 seats.

Voting for the party that best represents your values and ideals, with policies that you align with, is what MMP is all about.

In our view, voting for a party that doesn't represent you, due to fear of another party getting in, is the truly wasted vote and why nothing ever changes.

Have we explained the situation accurately?

Because it seems the inaccuracy is spreading far & wide and is resulting in dissuading people from supporting a party they most align with.
