Tucker Carlson's interview of Putin is honestly his best one ever.

It confirms everything we knew about the war. That it wasn't about NATO's expansion but Russian imperial expansion.

The irony of this all is that Tucker was running excuses for Putin earlier by blaming the US and not Russian (Putin's) internal motivations. Now he won't be able to.

Tucker didn't want to hear Putin's historical lecture (Putin's casus belli for why Ukraine doesn't exist) and that is why he was interrupting him so much. What Putin said in this interview completely overrides every single excuse that Tucker has previously assigned to him.

The truth that Putin makes Western leaders look like uncultured imbeciles does not detract from another truth which is that a boomer KGB agent is not charging in on a white polar bear to save us. Le Dissident Right’s and even Center Right’s love for Putin is as wholly unrequited as the Center Right’s love of the police as expressed in “back the blue.”

Both Putin worship and “back the blue” are driven by a misguided tendency to respect authority and power regardless of whether that authority is friendly, hostile, or indifferent towards us, along with an understandable but misguided desperation for someone to come save us given the gravity of the situation.
