On August 19th 1941, the NKVD blew up Dnipro hydropower station in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. A 165-meter long breach in the dam caused a wave which washed off up to 120k Ukrainian civilians, 20k Red Army personnel and 1.5k Germans. For 40 years the Kremlin lied that the dam in Zaporizhzhia was blown up by the Germans. Later it became known that the dam was blown up on Stalin's order. Neither the local population nor military leadership were notified of the dam’s impending destruction.
Keep this in mind, just in case there are dam breaches in Nova Kakhovka, and if/when our so-called friends and allies automatically adopt the Kremlin’s narrative.
