reach boss arena. try to fight boss. boss keeps idk clipping trough the floor or something, i just know that it disappears forever and the battle wont end, but the camera is shit and i cant actually see what happens lol
try to find ways to fight it without it poofing out of existence
accidentally find a way to lock the boss into a loop of doing the same attack over and over again, an attack that cant touch me

ah btw i forgot, but this thing basically is about

"when fighting the centipede demon, there are two doors - one from where you enter the fight, and other where you are expected to exit when the fight is over. if you just walk (you dont even have to run) to the locked exit door, and stay there, the big guy will get stuck between two pillars or something, and will just jump over and over again, trying to attack you. if you are in a good location in the door, it wont reach you, and if you arent, it will reach you. but he reaches you with an arm that you can cut (and get a nice free ring when you cut it), and once you cut the arm, the ugly boy will keep jumping on a loop, but without any way of touching you"

the arm regrows sometimes, but can be chopped again. its a very consistent trick to do, and tbh very very easy. once the big guy is stuck, with or without arm, you can just use ranged spells or a bow or whatever. in the extremely rare case that it moves from where it is and starts to get unstuck, you just... well, you walk a bit to get it back to where it was. it may happen idk one, maybe two times per fight? its a matter of seconds

it is also a nice super easy way to get the ring, in case you want to fight it for reals (for those who havent played it, basically this boss is a "i can walk on lava and you cant, huehuehue" type, and you fight it, surprise surprise, in a lava field with very little non-lava ground. you can try to fight it on said ground but the camera is ass and you cant see anything)


so now (past 3am, tomorrow i have class both in the morning and in the evening) im gonna try to see if this existed on the internet already or if i have discovered a new thing (very, very improbable) lol

i have investigated mainly two things in this last close to two hours:
the first is that apparently there are no records on the internet about my centipede demon boss discovery (but that is mostly because there are far easier ways to kill it. i managed to accidentally make it clip outside the boss fight in a very useless way, ppl manage to do it in an intentional and useful way) but that probably doesnt mean much

the second one is that i have some videos of the zone of the cliff from which i fell some years ago. i wasnt really aware that i had that. most videos feature ppl and im not gonna share any content with identifiable ppl in it, so that rules out most of the content. then there were some "lol there is a super low flying cloud and we are so high up that we can almost touch it" or something like that. anyway i made a few useful and illustrative screencaps, or so i want to think, to show the cliff

in pink/purple, the approximate way up that i took, and in yellowish, the quick and very direct way down lol

perspective is hard tho

here is the approximate same zone in daylight. we built things and whatnot, tho usually not that big, and usually with trees rather than "processed" wood pieces, but that isnt really relevant now

boi do i miss that place. both in a "physical space" and in a "the ppl there" way. it was chill. i got to use big axes and saws and hammers and whatnots. idk, it was a cool place

so yeah i have to ask around if somebody remembers, because i got hit in the head a few times while i was falling and my memory is blurry i cant remember how tall that shit was exactly, i think it was 40m but i am not 100% sure right now

okay so the ebook thing is way less terrible than i initially expected, so thats cool, but there are two things that i find very uncomfortable in it: one of them because autism, and the other not really

the first one, the "not-because-autism" one, is that im not sure how i am supposed to hold it. there is no comfortable way to grab it and hold it in front of me, the closest thing possible would be using my pinkie finger as anchor, but that is no bueno for the wrists and stuff, so im at a loss

the second one is that i am used to have two pages in front of me, not one. and between that and the different amount of words per page, its throwing me off. when i read a book, and i find an interesting word/phrase/part, im used to remember where it was, like "page whatever, upper left half of the right page" and all that. but now im trying to use the ebook to read a book that i have read in paper in the past, and im constantly finding things that my brain tells me that they should be on the upper right page but my eyes tell me that they are in the middle segment of the only page that i have in front of me, which i find terribly distracting. i can completely ignore the page number thing, but in my brain, the paragraphs are out of place, and i feel like it is gonna completely screw up with my ability to read and memorize things the more i use an ebook lol

and no im not a nerd who has infallible photographic memory, i dont memorize all pages, just the things i find interesting, and i usually forget most of them in just a few years. i know that there are extra-smart ppl out there in this world but i am not one of them


right now im using the thing to read mostly books that i "know", because that seemed like an easier way to adapt my brain, "unfamiliar presentation but familiar content", but eventually if this works out i might try to get me some nice textbooks in this thing, because i just cant get myself to read pdfs in a normal screen, and i've had some downloaded for years that i want to read someday. i dont have a clue if getting textbook pdfs in this thing will even be technically possible yet lol
