edit: look at the post below before reading this lol
i could easily tell a dozen books with dragons on them from the top of my head, and all of them (save for the silmarillion, but that one is special) are "kids books". maybe if there were more "adult" books with dragons, instead of just the same story over and over again, i'd be down to read some
all the adult books that i've seen are all either:
-"girl meets boy, they fall in love with eachother"
-"boy meets girl, they fall in love with eachother"
-maybe, at best, some gay variation of that
which tbh is lame. at least in "kids books", more often than not, the "fall in love" thing is either very secondary or it doesnt happen at all. or, hear me out on this, it can be better portrayed than in "adult" books imo. and, the best thing of all, there never are lewds. yes dragons no lewds? i dont need anything else, kids books just win
extra bonus points because the bookshelves look more colorful with kids books on them

plus, i challenge everyone here to show me some "adult books" that look worse better than this monstrosities super-duper-stylish ones. the five books i've read so far of this saga have a girl protagonist that has a friend boy and they are *friends* and at no point is implied in any way shape or form that they are something more than friends. and i can recall that once, in the second book, there was a dinosaur. so checkmate.
the tl;dr of it is, i sometimes dream... how to say it, "very long". i know what its like to have a screwed timeline on your dreams, where events "just happen", and there is also that thing of "if you are unsure if you are on a dream, look at your clock, then look somewhere else, then look at your clock again, if you are dreaming it will show a completely different number"
but sometimes i dont do that. sometimes i do have dreams that are time-realist, and they can last for a long time. usually its just like "i have slept three hours but i was dreaming for ten", but sometimes it goes on for one or two days, or stuff like that. and once, years ago, i had a dream that completely fucked me over, because i was trapped there for a month, and it was not pretty at all. i spent the next irl days very, very confused about what was real and what wasnt
the "waking up after dreaming about something that you desire just to realize that it was a dream" its just "i dreamed with something that i wanted so hard to believe it was true that i actually got to believe it was for a minute". but thats about it.
also, while i dont really know what its like to dream with something good like that, i am pretty sure that there are nightmares way worse than that
its very tempting to add more to this, but i dont want to screw the mood and/or traumatize ppl so i wont :v
