also yes, i wrote "furrie" instead of "furry", and that is because im a very special kid. next question.
okay, so i guess i have a franken-bios now
the short version of it is:
-lenovo has a whitelist for what network cards you can put in your laptop
-i flashed a modded bios which removes said whitelist and changes a few more things
-said restriction removal was intended for wifi cards but not for wifi+bt cards
-one or two days later, i tried installing/booting windows to see if bluetooth not working was just a matter of drivers, because i thought that i had nothing to lose at that point
-windows, of course, updated my bios. just in case. without a warning.
-now booting the laptop spits funny messages about "changed hardware" or "checksum error" or stuff like that
-half of the bios settings were nuked. the other half retained the specific configuration that i set previously
-i am unsure of what works and what doesnt now. the laptop boots. that is as much as i can say.
-im not sure if to reinstall the modded bios or what. probably, as long as it works, i wont be touching anything.
-the moral of the story is to never ever install windows again in any piece of hardware whose death im not prepared to see
